Chapter 11

.:.Wesley's POV.:.
In a matter of months I had gotten close to Althea. She was so different and I loved it. The fact that she said yes to being my girlfriend made me the happiest I've ever been. No one else had ever made me feel this way. Sure I may have been with a couple of girls in the past, but never have I ever felt this way.
I was lucky to have her, that I knew.
We sat on the bench in the crisp, cool beach air. My hand held Althea's as we watched people walk by, and waited for the sun to set.
I stood up from the seat and motions for her to wait there. Walking to the end of the bench, a daisy grew from the ground. I picked it from the ground, careful not to break the stem.
"Awh, what a cute flower." She giggled as she saw me approach her. I sat back down next to her.
"Not as cute as you are." I smiled cheesily and brushed her hair behind her ear, placing it there. She turned her head slightly, shying away from my compliment.
"We should go, you're getting cold." I suggested, rubbing my hand down her shoulders, trying to keep her warm.
"No I'm not. I'm fine!" She said, a shiver later.
"You're lying." I retorted. She was horrible at lying. I could totally see through her.
"Fine." She smiled faintly. We stood and her hand gently found mine. She intertwined our fingers before pulling me down the sidewalk. We crossed the street and had just gotten to the sidewalk on this side.
The flower blew out of her hair as the wind brushed through the area. She stepped off of the curb, letting go of my hand, in attempt to pick it up from the ground. A car was on-coming and looked like it wasn't going to stop.
I ran pulling Althea out of the way just in time. We fell to the ground, her toppling over me. She'd gotten a scratch or two on her forearm, but nothing compared to what could have happened if I wasn't there to pull her out of the way.
"I could easily get you another flower. You can't do something stupid like that! What if you got hit. I would blame myself for anything that happened to you." I said, flustered.
"What would I do without you." She a smile, immediately wincing in pain from her arm. As I took a look at it, it was more than a scratch or two. That was an understatement. I realized she'd gotten a huge gash from rolling as we fell to the ground.
"Come over. Let's get you all cleaned up." I said as we continued to walk. My home was just down the street. Hers wasn't too far off either. We both lived right by the beach. I was just closer.
"No, I got it. I can't take care of it. I don't want to be any trouble to your brother and Drew." She managed, before wincing again.
"No, I'll clean it up before it gets infected." I smiled as she looked up at me, her eyebrows furrowed a bit but she finally gave up and we walked back to my place.

"Dude, how'd it go! Thea! You're here! Wait, what happened?"
"I pushed her-"
"WHAT THE HELL." Keaton's expression hardened and Drew came to see what all the commotion was about.
"Keats, you didn't let me finish bro! I pushed... Well more like I pulled her out of the way," I admitted.
"He saved me from getting hit by a truck." Keaton's jaw dropped but he smiled as he hugged Althea.
