Chapter 6

.:Wesley's POV.:.
"C' mon. You have practically been sleeping for a day, you are not that hung over..." I laughed at Althea as she smirked at me. She got up, and ran to the bathroom, and came back out after fifteen minutes. She was now wearing a t-shirt and shorts, with a pair of high topped, padded skate shoes.
"You skate?" I asked curiously. She raised a brow, looking at me as if I didn't already know. But I didn't.
"No dur. That's why I have a board." She giggled, picking up her board from the floor.
"Harsh! Ok, let's go." I pulled her into a headlock, ruffling her hair into a big mess.
"Hey! Stop it! I'm going, sheesh! And by the way, you owe me a milkshake!"

We were out the door and she ran into the street, almost immediately dropping her board onto the pavement. As she stepped one foot onto it, she kicked to gain speed. I caught up to her, grabbing her by the waist.
"Put me down you fool!" She quirmed in my arms, smacking at them, and struggling to get out of my stronghold. I easily picked her up and put her aside while I took her spot on the board. I kicked as fast as I could to get away from her but she caught up to me. I laughed as she tried to push me off of the skateboard. But I didn't budge.
As the board came to a stop, I set one foot on the ground making me come to a full stop. With one foot on the board, I was going to attempt and make another run for it, but I didn't want to make Althea deal with me like that again. I removed my eyes from the board and set my eyes on her, making a puppy dog face. The smirk on her face grew as I turned my frown into a smile.
My arm was outstretched, waitiing for Althea to reach back and take a hold of my hand. I gave her the puppy dog face again which never failed. At least when I did it. I'd been told I was good at it.
"Fine. I'll do it. But you better buy me that milkshake you owe me!" She set her hand in mine and grapsed tightly as she pulled me so that I was now moving.
"Skitching with a girl is almost as good as skitching with a golf cart!" I joked as she turned to look at me.
"Haha, you're so funny!" She stuck her tongue out and crinkled her nose, followed by a cute giggle.
For a moment it became silent, not in a sense that it was awkward though. But as she took another glance back, she stared down at our hands that she hadn't noticed were actually intertwined.
Our hands were still intertwined, that was until we were slightly interrupted.
As we walked the street, a lady on her bike, coming leaving the boardwalk, from the opposite direction stopped to say something.
"Awh, you too are just an adorable couple!" She sing-songed as she looked at us, her eyes bright with happiness.
"Oh, we're just friends... We're not..." Althea stated, her hand falling to her side after leaving mine.
For some reason I got a sinking feeling in my chest.
Just friends.
Indeed we were. But I have been with Althea for a while now, a few days, and not gonna lie, I think I actually like her. She isn't at all like the girls I am into... She's different and that might be why I like her.
My attention was rawn back to Althea. Her cheeks grew pink and she just smiled at me, but quickly looked away.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I shouldn't assume." The lady's smile was still beaming as she left us alone.
"You're not gonna pull me anymore?" I asked.
"Nope! We're here dip shit." A mischievous smile crept it's way to her lips, her smooth, supple, pink, cute lips.
"Did you just c-" She pushed at my chest.
"Yes!" She interrupted before she made a run for it. She was gonna get it now!
She ran down to the beach, zooming past a ton of people walking by. I quickly picked up the board and as soon as my feet hit the sand, I dropped it in attempt to cathc Althea.
"Althea! Get over here!" I yelled, as I chased her by the shore line.
"No! You catch me." She replied, as if she was confident that I wouldn't get her at all. She ran but tripped over herself. She seemed to be the only one that ever did that on a daily basis. But it was cute.
As I got near her, my arm snaked its way aroun her waist and I pulled her into my arms, before we hit the ground. She had landed on top of me, her hand at my chest.
"And who said I won't catch you.?" I said as I smiled up at her. She peered down at me, her green eyes searching mine. A slight grin was plastered upon her lips. Her face was inches from mine and she seemed to be leaning in, but I couldn't be too sure.
"C'mon. Let's go get that milkshake." I said, lifting myself off the ground. The grin disappeared and she stood up from the ground.
"Err, yeah. Uhm, Okay!" She managed to say. Yeah, judging from her reaction, she was going in for a kiss. At least I always thought so. Girls are confusing. They say one thing, but do another. I never got them. Ever.
Her eyes avoided me a little and I could clearly see that awkward thing she always did when she tried to ignore people. Except this time, it was directed toward me.
We stood at the counter, her stare, aimlessly darting around at everything, but me. Her body faced me, but she still continued to avoid all eye contact. I ordered mine and her milkshake.
"That'll be $5.78." As soon as she heard it she turned to me. But this time with a forgiving smile.
"You're welcome." I smiled, my heart pounding just a little bit.
Her smile never left her face the rest of the night.
For some reason it was that smile that got to me. It was so innocent. So sincere.
So... cute.
