Me: So my neighbor is super hot which is awesome. But he's a dick which isn't awesome.

Sofia: Sigh. At least you got eye candy!

Me: Yeah...

I set my phone down and pick my guitar pick back up, mindlessly strumming random chords, begging for some sort of idea to come into my head. I quickly give up, deciding to go grocery shopping instead. It's desperately needed.

I pull on baggy shorts and a t shirt then grab my keys and wallet. I slip on my shoes and walk out, finding the nearest grocery store. I stroll through each aisle, making sure to only buy off brand things.

"Aw, you got the last one."

I turn my head and see a girl smiling at me. She's cute; thin red streaks in her black hair, nice full lips. I look down at the jar of peanut butter then back at the shelf, seeing none left.

"You can have it," I tell her, handing it over. "I don't need it."

She sighs and stares down at the jar. "To be honest, I don't want it. Just needed an excuse to talk to you."

I widen my eyes. I've had people flirt with me before, sure, but it's still not a regular occurrence. Especially from complete strangers within two seconds of meeting. "Oh?"

"You just moved into my building. I saw you walking out yesterday. You're pretty," She says with a shrug. "I'm Blair."

"Eve," I grin at her.

"I'm on lunch break at my job so I kind of have to run." I watch as she starts walking backwards, still looking at me. "Catch you later!"

She turns and walks out of the aisle, leaving me standing still. I feel a bit confused by the quick interaction, wishing I could've gotten her number. I guess I can find her if she's right about us living in the same building, and I hope so. I've only been here three days and I've already been called pretty. Sure, I was called an idiot by my neighbor, but the compliment makes up for it.

I finish my shopping and check out, lifting the full tote bags on my shoulders. I heave them back to my building and up the stairs, nearly dropping everything multiple times. I put everything in its place and sit back down on my couch, sighing as I grab my notebook again. I had a boyfriend junior year for about a month; broke up with him for pressuring me into sex. He didn't give much lasting inspiration, so I have to just make stories up.

I wanna be alone
Alone with you,
Does that make sense?
I wanna steal your soul
and hide you in my treasure chest.
I don't know what to do,
to do with your kiss on my neck.
I don't know what feels true,
but this feels right, so stay a sec.

I clap my notebook shut and place it on my coffee table. I pull out my phone and scroll mindlessly, insanely bored. I end up texting Sofia, of course, hoping she can distract me.

Me: I met this girl today.

Sofia: HELLO!!!!?????

Me: She was pretty.

Sofia: OMGGGG?????

Me: She said we live in the same building so I hope that's true 🙃 I didn't get her number.

Sofia: Help that's a little weird, she's a stalker. You're stupid for not getting her number or anything.

Me: I knowww

Sofia: Did you get her name? Maybe you can find her

Me: Blair, but idk how I could find her
