Wilbur

As Eve's lips move in sync with mine, one of my hands rests on her thigh while the other softly holds her neck, keeping her close to me. I've already left bites all over her neck, happy to show the world that she's mine.

There's suddenly a knock on the door, startling both of us. I just continue to kiss her but she pushes me away, standing up from the couch. I groan as I watch her walk towards the door. We've been officially dating for a week now, and we haven't been able to get our hands off of each other. And I like it that way. "It's probably just someone trying to sell something, baby."

She shrugs. "Then it'll take two seconds and we can go back to what we're doing." Eve swings the door open without checking the peep hole and I see her shoulders instantly drop. There's a middle aged woman on the other side, with dark hair and eyes just like Eve's.

"Mom!" She exclaims, but seeming stressed instead of excited. "Hi!"

"Hi, Eve," She greets her, then I see her eyes scan her neck. The neck full from bruises by my teeth. Shit. I quickly stand up and wipe my mouth, hopefully cleaning off Eve's lipstick.

"Uh, it's been awhile." Eve tells her. "Three months, to be exact."

"I know," Her mom sighs. "I'm sorry, it was just really difficult for me to deal with this whole thing. But, obviously, I shouldn't have doubted you."

"Oh, okay." She pauses for a second, and I notice her mom is carrying a large bag. "Are you staying the night?"

"Don't worry, I got a hotel room."

"No, no, it's fine." Eve runs her hand through her hair, obviously a bit anxious by the surprise arrival. "I just have to change the sheets in the guest room from when Sofia stayed over."

"Are you sure, hon? I should've called."

"It's fine." Eve repeats, then looks back at me with panicked eyes. "Uh, mom, this is my boyfriend, Will."

Her mom's face lights up as she looks at me. "Yes, so I've seen all over the internet."

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Hadley," I say, stepping up next to Eve and putting my hand on the small of her back.

She grins and shakes her head. "Oh, just call me Karen."

"Come sit down," Eve offers, taking her bag. I grab it from her, setting it on the guest room's bed and taking a seat next to Eve on the couch, her mom on her recliner. "Did you fly out here?"

Karen nods with a sigh. "Yes, and I had no idea how hellish a New York airport would be."

"Yeah, it's pretty crazy up here compared to home." Eve scratches the back of her hand. "I'll pay you back for the hotel room. And the plane tickets. You shouldn't have to pay for that to see me."

"No, sweetie, it's alright. Show me around the city and we'll call it even." Karen looks at me. "So, you're from England? Why move? I've heard it's wonderful there."

I sink into the couch and grin. "Uh, not my favorite place. Too many bad memories. Plus, I always wanted to move here for music."

"Aw, that's a shame." She frowns. "Where in the city do you live?"

Eve gives me a look, but I don't pick up the hint in time. "Next door, actually. It's how we met."

"Oh!" Karen says, obviously struggling to keep her polite smile. "That's... convenient."

"Do you wanna grab dinner with us?" Eve says, desperate to change the subject.

"That would be great!" She replies. "Just nothing fancy, I didn't bring any nice clothes."

"We don't usually do fancy anyway." Eve stands back up from the couch and turns to me. "Uh, we'll be ready to go in twenty minutes, I guess."

"Alright," I kiss her cheek then grin at Karen. "See you guys in a bit." I grab my keys and go next door, suddenly stressed to make this dinner go right. Connie's family hated me, so I want Eve's to be different. Her mum seems sweet, despite some stories Eve has told me. Either way, it's important to me that her mum likes me. I know we're just going somewhere casual, so I pull on my least wrinkled t-shirt and slacks. I use this weird lotion sort of thing that Eve gave me on my hair, letting it calm down my curls. I put my shoes on and lean against my kitchen counter, texting Eve.

Me: LMK when you guys are ready :)

Eve: Okay.

Me: Sorry I spilled that we're neighbors...

Eve: It's fine, she would've found out eventually. Just don't tell her that I smoke weed and we're good. She won't act like it in front of you but she's already fussing about having hickeys on my neck!!

Me: Shittt :( I'm sorry

Eve: Its not your fault. I wish she had called first but whatever. I'm gonna makeout with my boyfriend it's not the end of the world.

Me: Im guessing we can't makeout anymore tonight ??? 😔😔

Eve: Not until she leaves tomorrow night 🙃 At least she's only here for a day.

Me: And Im here to support you ❤️

Eve: Thank you baby :))) See ya in a few minutes.
