As I'm eating my dinner and watching a movie, I can't stop thinking about the conversation Wilbur and I had earlier. It's obvious that he likes me, which is crazy, and I still have no idea how to feel about it. I stare at the TV, completely zoned out as I can only think about him. Him. His gorgeous hair, perfect smile. His large hands on my waist, his lips against mine.
A man that is wanted by millions of people wants me, a nobody.
Just then, there's a knock at the door. Speaking of the devil, Wilbur is standing there, his hands in the pocket of his hoodie.
"What's up?" I ask with a grin, my mind feeling more and more dizzy as I stare at him.
"Hey," He smiles back at me. "Are you high?"
"A little,"
"Will you remember what I'm about to tell you?"
"Depends on how important it is."
"Alright," Wilbur chuckles and shakes his head. "Uh, for my birthday, I'm doing a one night only show in London this weekend. I was gonna have a friend over there open for me, but I was wondering if you wanted to. Free trip to London."
I bite my lip, feeling super excited. I've never been outside of the United States before, and now I'm going to London for free? With a really cute boy that I'm trying to resist? And I get to open at his show? "I'm so down. Look at you, being so nice to me."
"Be quiet," He teases, rolling his eyes. "I just wanted to let you know. I'm gonna be gone the next couple of days, but I'll see you Friday when we leave."
"Cool," I say. I know I shouldn't invite him in, but hey, he won't be here for a few days, and he just invited me on an insane trip. Might as well spend some time together. "I'm watching a movie, wanna join?"
"Sure," He shuts my door behind him and sits on my couch, a foot of space between us. We sit in silence as we finish my movie, which only had about thirty minutes left. I'm sure Wilbur is confused, but he doesn't annoy me with a million questions.
As I grab the remote to turn something else on, I see Wilbur staring at me out of the corner of my eye. I ignore it, knowing it'll end up with us kissing again, so I just switch to a show.
"Are you cold?" I ask, grabbing a blanket from my end of the couch. I always keep my apartment chilly, and it comes in handy during times like these. Times where I shouldn't be flirting with a boy.
"A bit," Wilbur grins, pulling the blanket over both of us as I scoot over right next to him, our arms pressing against each other. I take in his scent, a nice woody cologne.
Once the episode is over, the channel starts playing a movie. I grin as I realize it's Wall-E, one of my favorite movies as a kid. "Aw, I haven't seen this movie in forever."
"I've never seen it."
"What?" I gasp, looking at him. "Yeah, you're staying to watch it with me. Hope you have a couple of hours."
"Well, if I have to..." Wilbur chuckles, watching the screen as the intro starts. As the movie plays, Wilbur lifts his arm and rests it on the back of my couch. I take the invitation to lean against his chest, and surprisingly, his arm immediately moves down around my shoulders. I'm comfortable against him, his hoodie soft and his heart softly beating in my ears. I'm easily falling deeper and deeper for him, but he still has to prove a lot to me. I don't want to date another piece of shit.
We stay like this the entire movie, both of us too invested to move. We stay mostly silent, only making a few comments and laughing at some parts. Once it's over, I sit up straight, laughing as I wipe away my tears from the emotional ending. I look at Wilbur, seeing he's crying too.
"There's just something in my eye." He mutters with a smile, using his hoodie to wipe the tears.
"It's cute," I giggle, muting the TV since the credits are playing depressing music which isn't helping us. "I can't believe you've never seen that movie before."
"And never again." He smiles; that wide, beautiful smile that can make anyone fall to their knees. Even in the darkness with just the TV screen illuminating him, he's so insanely handsome. I can't give in just yet, but might as well have some harmless fun, right?
I drop my voice to a whisper. "Wanna practice for the cameras some more?"
Wilbur looks down at my lips then back up at me. "You're high, Eve. I'm not taking advantage of you."
"Like, barely high." I argue. "I'm completely aware of my actions right now. I swear,"
"I wish I could, but still no." He sighs. "Will just a kiss satisfy you?"
I frown, disappointed, but I'm also glad. My ex never cared if I wasn't sober, but Wilbur won't touch me at the slightest intoxication. "I guess a kiss will be enough."
"Good," Wilbur grins and leans forward, giving me a kiss that is way too quick. I want to grab his face and keep him connected to me, but I just lean back against the couch. "I'll see you in a few days, okay?"
"Alright," I sigh as I stare at him, despising just how beautiful he is. "Have fun,"
"I'll try," He sets his side of the blanket on top of me as he stands up. I watch as he walks out and rest my head on a throw pillow, staring up at the ceiling.
He better be worth all this stress.
