"Bye," I give Blair a quick kiss before leaving her on my couch to walk out the door. Wilbur just glances at me, insane eye bags on his face. We don't say a word as we walk out and down a few blocks to a restaurant, right at a window.
The only words we speak are to the waiter, and to be a bit annoying, I order an expensive meal.
"I'm not paying for that." Wilbur says.
"Fine, I will," I mutter, completely aware that my wallet is not in my pocket.
We eat our dinner once it shows up, Wilbur eating a good bit slower than me. I finish most of my plate and pat my pockets, bringing out my terrible acting skills.
"Shit, I don't have my wallet." I sigh and stand from the table. "I'll be right back."
Wilbur just mutters a response and I walk out, thankful to be gone from the awkward atmosphere. A couple of pap who were standing outside our window follow me all the way home, yelling questions at me, while I just completely ignore them. I finally make it to the safety of my apartment building and walk up, finding Blair still on my couch.
"Hey," She grins at me as I kick my shoes off. "How was your date?"
I lie on the couch, setting my head on her thighs. "Silent. But I ordered a super expensive dish, which he said I had to pay for, so I left saying I was grabbing my money. He's gonna be pissed when he realizes I'm not returning."
"Sneaky," She giggles, playing with my hair. "I'm so excited for that relationship to be over."
"Mhmm," I agree. I pull out my phone and open my Spotify, checking my song once a day that I released last week. It's had a steady two thousand listens every day, which isn't much to some artists, but everything to me. I sort of hate that it's only fans of Wilbur, though. I'm sure he'll eventually use that against me.
After a few more minutes, I get a text from Wilbur.
Wilbur: You almost here? They're asking me to pay. They have reservations and need to move us out.
Wilbur: Hello??
Wilbur: You're not coming back, are you?
Me: Idk, my foot kinda hurts I'd rather just stay here on my couch :/
Wilbur: Wow.
Wilbur: Fuck you Eve. You didn't even eat all of it.
Me: Maybe if you didn't yell at me and call the girl I like a psycho bitch, I wouldn't have done that!
Wilbur: Whatever. You'll be crying to me soon enough when you finally realize how awful she is.
Me: Now why the hell would I be crying to you?
Wilbur: Apologizing when you realize I'm right.
Me: Yeah that's funny Will.
I set my phone down and sit up straight, placing my hand on Blair's thigh as I watch her show with her. At a commercial break, I turn my head and kiss her with a smile.
"I missed you."
She tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "I missed you, too. Thanks for texting me."
"Thanks for understanding."
Blair pulls me back in for just a second, but I grab her face and keep hers with mine. I copy Wilbur's move and dig my nails into her hips, lying her down on the couch as I kiss her.
"It's late and I have an 8 am class." She mumbles into my lips.
"It's only eleven,"
"Yeah, but if I stay any longer, I know I'll end up staying all night." Blair completely pulls away from my face. "I should really go."
"You can miss one," I whine, placing a kiss on top of a hickey that I gave her last night.
"Actually, if I miss one more, I fail that class." She giggles and kisses my forehead. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
I watch with a frown as she stands up. "Alright. Text me when you get back to your room."
She waves at me before stepping out, and of course, Wilbur is walking down the hallway at the same time. I quickly get up as I hear him talking to her and poke my head out the door.
"Maybe she does deserve better than me, but you're definitely not what she needs." She tells him, arms folded across her chest.
"Will, could you let the girl go home?"
He turns to me, obviously angry. "Can you pay me back my fifty bucks?"
I scoff. "You make that in five minutes. You'll be fine."
Wilbur looks at me then her then back at me before storming into his apartment. Blair and I exchange smiles and eye rolls before she's able to walk off in peace.
