"I'm gonna fucking barf,"

"Well, just don't do it on the crowd." William remarks.

"Not funny!" Sofia says, wrapping her arm around my shoulders. "I'll be watching from back here. You're going to do amazing. This is what you've been working for, Eve. This is it. Soon enough, people will be bragging that they got to see your first ever show when you're winning a Grammy."

"I'm gonna barf." I repeat, clutching my guitar close to me.

Someone from stage crew comes and tells me I'm on in two minutes. I drop my freaked out act, not needing any potential label people or whoever seeing me acting insane. Sofia gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek for luck before I'm led to backstage. I'm shaking so hard that I struggle to put my ear pieces in and turn my pack on. I pull my guitar strap over me and send a silent prayer to whoever is listening as I'm signaled to go on.

My stomach drops as I'm greeted by thousands of people, a good bit of them cheering. I wave, smile, and try not to puke as I walk out in stand in front of my microphone.

"Hi!" I say, earning more cheering, mainly from the people standing in the pit. "Sheesh, this is a lot of people. I'm Eve Hadley! I literally have never performed in front of people before unless you count my high school talent shows in front of, like, twenty people, so... I would like to thank William for letting me open for him last minute, this is a huge, awesome opportunity and I'm so insanely happy to be here."

A bunch of people in the pit give me confused looks, yelling at me and laughing. I can't really understand what they're saying, so I take out my earpiece.

"What?" I grin, leaning over.

"Not you calling him the full name!" A young girl in front of me tells me.

"Oh!" I laugh, shaking my head. "Sorry, uh, Wilbur. My bad."

I perform my five songs, barely even feeling nervous through it. It's absolutely amazing, despite no one knowing a single lyric. More people than I thought get involved, clapping along and cheering for me. I wish I could stay out longer, but I eventually have to leave, blowing the crowd a kiss before running off.

The second I reach the green room, I drop to my knees, covering my face with my hands. I hear Sofia squeal and feel her arms around me as my tears run down.

"You were amazing!" She exclaims, squeezing me in a hug. "My best friend is a star!"

"That was the best thing that's ever happened to me." I sigh, wiping my face, careful to not mess up my makeup.

"And it'll just get better from here."

I stand up and look over at William whose watching me from his chair. He gets up and untangles his ear pieces as he walks over to me. He glances me up and down and then grins. "Not bad, sweetheart." He walks out and shuts the door behind him, leaving Sofia and I alone.

"Sorry, what?" Sofia gasps, grabbing my arm.

"He says that to annoy me." I tell her, but can't help the small smile creeping on my lips.

"He's also hot as hell."

I collapse on the couch and grab my water bottle. "Yeah, William is a pretty boy, but he's so mean to me."

Sofia scoffs as she sits next to me. "He asked you to open for him. There are a million other musicians in this city, but he asked you."

"It was most convenient. And I'm into Blair."

"Didn't he say she was crazy?"

"Didn't I say he's an asshole?"

She grins and leans against me. "True."

We chill in the green room, watching William's show on the TV. He puts on a good show, even if he just stands in the same spot the whole time. I really wouldn't be surprised if a good majority of the fans were just there because he's nice to look at.

He comes back to the green room when he's done, soaked in sweat. He gives us a strange look. "You guys are still here?"

"Oh, were we supposed to leave?"

William chugs down nearly his whole bottle of water. "I mean, yeah. You did your set."

"Well," I give Sofia an awkward look as I stand up. "I guess we'll go."

He doesn't say anything else as we gather my stuff and walk out the back. He drove me here, so we have to get a taxi to take us back to my place.

"Yeah, he's an asshole." Sofia sighs as we sit in the backseat. "What a shame."

We finally reach my apartment, and I'm way too excited to take a shower. I jump back as I open the door, nearly having a heart attack as I see Blair sitting on my couch.

"There you are!" She hops up and walks over, smiling at me.

"How did you get in here?" I mumble.

"Your spare key." Blair says, cocking her head to the side. "Hiding it under the mat isn't very safe."

"Obviously," Sofia scoffs, leaning against the door after I shut it.

"Who are you?" Blair asks with a concerned look.

"Sofia. She flew in a little early." I explain. "Why are you here?"

"You weren't answering your phone. I was worried. Where were you?"

For some reason, I have a feeling she'll be a bit pissed that I had a show and didn't invite her. "We were just out getting dinner and did a bit of shopping."

"Where are your bags?"

"Chill, girl," I tell her with a laugh. "I need to shower and then I'm gonna sleep. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

She frowns at me and gives Sofia a quick glance before looking back at me. "Alright. See you later."

I lean down and kiss her before she walks out, groaning once she's gone. "That was weird."

"Extremely," Sofia says, lying on my couch and grabbing the remote. "You sure you like her?"

"I do," I reply, looking through my notifications. "She's beautiful and cute and sweet. Maybe a little crazy, but aren't we all?"

"Sure," She hums.
