Taylor was currently in her dressing room backstage preparing for her first show in Indianapolis. Or at least, she should be getting ready, but instead, she was currently curled up on the small couch in her dressing room, sipping some ginger ale in an attempt to settle her stomach. She'd woken up feeling unwell that morning, but it seemed to be getting progressively worse as the day went on. Tree had already broached the idea of postponing the concert, but Taylor insisted she would be fine to perform. From her spot on the couch, she could see her parents talking quietly with Tree on the other side of the room, their quiet whispers not quite loud enough for her to understand, but she was sure they were talking about her. She was too exhausted to care though, busy hoping that the medication she had been given would take effect soon and give her enough relief to get through the show.

After another hour of resting while making final decisions about which outfits to wear and which surprise songs she would be performing, Taylor had pumped herself up enough to finish getting ready. She was still in a lot of pain, but she felt well enough to power through the show to avoid letting anyone down. Tree had given her a final offer to postpone to allow her more time to rest, but Taylor was adamant that the show must go on.

By the time she reached the reputation set, Taylor was in significant pain, despite the medication she had been given before the concert started. From their place in the VIP tent, Taylor's parents noticed the way her movements seemed guarded, as if every bit of movement was making her pain worse. Andrea voiced her concern to Tree, who agreed that Taylor didn't look good, and both women made their way backstage to check on her during her next quick change.

As soon as Taylor got offstage, she spotted her mother, racing straight into her arms despite the pain that radiated through her stomach with each step she took. She allowed her tears to flow freely as her mother held her, nodding her approval when Tree asked her if they needed to call a pause in the show.

"I can't do it, Mama," Taylor mumbled, "I can't finish the show."

"Shh, it's okay, Sweetie," Andrea cooed, guiding her to the chair someone had brought over for her, "Let us figure out the logistics, but we'll reschedule. I think we should call a medic to come check you out though."

Taylor begrudgingly agreed, allowing her mother to help her take a seat in the cart that would bring her back to her dressing room. Every motion the cart made increased her pain, despite her efforts to hold herself as still as possible. She could hear Tree talking on her phone behind where she was sitting, but she was too focused on her pain to pay any attention to what she was saying.

One of the medics was waiting for them when they reached the dressing room, and she greeted Taylor warmly before suggesting she lay down on the couch. After a quick exam, she informed them that Taylor's symptoms were consistent with appendicitis, suggesting that she seek immediate medical attention and that she would likely need emergency surgery. Taylor began to panic, her mind immediately moving in a million directions at once.

The next few minutes were a blur, as Taylor was brought to a car while Tree released a statement saying that the concert would be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Within moments, rumors started flying on social media, and Tree knew that Travis would most likely panic when he found out that Taylor had stopped mid-show. She quickly called him, knowing that Taylor would want him to know what was happening.

"Tree? What's going on," Travis started as soon as he picked up the phone, "Is Tay okay?"

"Hi Travis. Taylor is okay, I'm sure you've seen the news already, but she's on her way to the hospital," Tree explained, "I know you guys talked earlier, so you knew she wasn't feeling well all day. It got worse mid-show so we had one of the medics check her out. They think it's appendicitis."
