Warning: Pregnancy Loss

It had been just under four months since Taylor had wrapped up her Eras Tour, and she was slowly adjusting to her new routine. The first month had gone by in a blur, with both her birthday and Christmas bringing together friends and family to celebrate. January was spent attending Travis's playoff games, but unfortunately the Chiefs had been knocked out just shy of making it to the Super Bowl again. Travis had surprised her with a vacation in Feburary, and they spent two full weeks relaxing on a beach in Fiji. It was just what they had needed after such a busy year in both of their respective careers, and had served as the perfect break before Travis began off-season training and Taylor started working more seriously to finish up her next album.

The getaway wasn't the only surprise Travis had up his sleeves, however, and on their fifth day he had taken her out to a small local restaurant and asked her to marry him. With tears in her eyes, Taylor happily agreed as Travis slipped the ring onto her finger. She excitedly called her friends and family when they had returned to the resort, proudly showing off the beautiful diamond Travis had designed on FaceTime with them. The rest of the trip found them tangled in the bedsheets more often than not, drunk and happily in love as they celebrated this next step in their relationship.

But now it was March, and Taylor was busy in the studio with Jack, putting the finishing touches on a few tracks she had decided to add to the upcoming album. Most of the songs were about Travis; meeting him, realizing she was falling in love with him, the little bumps and fights along the way, and now, the engagement. It was almost like a little time capsule of their relationship up to this point.

Arguably her favorite song on the album was the one she had written after their first night together. She thought she had perfectly captured the "oh shit" moment she had in the middle of the night when she realized she was in love again. It made her smile to think back on that night, the way she had slipped out of his bed in an effort not to disturb him while she made a quick voice memo with the lyrics she had just thought of, but unfortunately she didn't realize how much the ensuite bathroom echoed, and by the time she had gotten the words saved into her phone, he was watching in awe from the doorway.

"Tay, you doing okay?" Jack interrupted her thoughts, noticing that she was looking more pale than usual.

"Yeah, yeah," Taylor started, sinking back into the nearby couch, "I think I just need to sit for a few minutes. Can you grab me some water?"

Jack already had a water in his hands before she could ask. After all these years of working together, he could anticipate her needs with shockingly good accuracy. Taylor took a few small sips before setting the bottle down on the table and resting her head on the back of the couch.

"You look like shit," Jack laughed, earning a middle finger from Taylor, "No, seriously, Taylor. Are you sick?"

"I feel like shit," she mumbled.

"Should we call it a day? Maybe you can go take a nap or something?" Jack asked, his voice laden with concern as he took a seat next to her.

"I'll be fine. This just happens sometimes. I get really nauseated and dizzy for a few minutes but it usually passes. Can you play that new track Aaron sent? I want to listen to it while I wait for this to pass."

Jack reluctantly agreed, heading over the computer and looking for the file. But before he could get it to play, Taylor had sprung up from the couch, burying her face in the closest trash can before emptying the contents of her stomach.

"Okay, you're definitely sick, Tay. I'll wrap things up here, but you should go home and rest. Do you want me to call someone for you? Is Travis here?" Jack asked gently, helping her stagger back over to the couch.
