TW: Minor mentions of past ED

Partially inspired by that picture of Travis at CVS the other day, partially inspired by my own week 🤣

"Are you sure you don't need me to stay home today?" Travis asked as he sat at the edge of the bed next to Taylor.

"I'll be okay, but thanks baby," Taylor answered, not moving from her spot under the blankets, "I'll probably just nap all day anyway."

"Promise you'll call me if you feel worse or need anything? I'll make sure someone has my phone while we're shooting," he asked.

Travis was still nervous to leave Taylor alone all day, but he was scheduled for an all-day taping of his new show. They had both been up for most of the night, with Taylor unable to sleep for more than an hour or so at a time. She couldn't place exactly what was wrong, just that she didn't feel good. Her stomach hurt and she just couldn't get comfortable no matter how she positioned herself. She'd felt off for a few days now, but it seemed to be getting worse rather than better. As the early hours of the morning approached, she still couldn't seem to quiet her racing brain. Travis had stayed up with her for most of the night, trying to help her get comfortable any way he could think of: rubbing her back, playing with her hair, even offering to draw her a bath somewhere around 3am.

Travis hesitated at the bedroom door for a minute before saying one last goodbye to Taylor, promising to call her during his lunch break in a few hours. On the ride to the set, he debated calling someone to go check in on Taylor, maybe one of her friends or even Tree. Ultimately he decided to wait until his lunch break, wanting to give her the chance to enjoy some peace and quiet if that's what she needed to get some rest.

Taylor did her best to power through her day, getting out of bed to feed the cats before settling on the couch to answer some emails. Travis had texted her when he arrived to the set, and she quickly responded with a quick selfie showing Benji curled up on the back of the couch behind her head, reassuring him that she was feeling okay.

But honestly, she wasn't feeling okay. She just didn't want to worry him. Her stomach pain was only getting worse, but she still couldn't tell if this was the start of some sort of stomach bug or just her anxiety acting up as her album release date quickly approached. If she were being completely honest, it was probably just her anxiety, and part of her just wanted to crawl back into bed and sleep until the album was out.

By early afternoon, she had retreated back to the bedroom, grabbing one of Travis's favorite hoodies and allowing herself to be enveloped in his comforting scent. She had just crawled into bed when her phone rang, and she couldn't help but smile as Travis's contact photo lit up her screen.

"Hey baby. How's your day going?" she greeted him, watching his face light up as soon as he saw her.

"It's going pretty well. We just wrapped up our first taping and now I have a little break before we start the second one. I'm running out to grab some food. How are you feeling, my love?" he asked.

"I'm fine," she lied, trying to hide her grimace as another wave of pain hit her.

"Tay, please don't lie to me. I can see that you're hurting," Travis pleaded.

"I think it's just nerves about the new album. I'm sure I'll be fine after a nap," Taylor reassured him.

"Have you eaten anything today honey?" he asked gently, knowing this was a bit of a tricky subject for her, "I can order something for you if you don't feel up to cooking."

"I'm honestly not that hungry. I tried to have a little toast earlier but it made my stomach feel worse," Taylor explained.

"Okay honey. I'll pick up something mild for dinner on my way home later. I put some Gatorade in the fridge for you before I left too. At least try to stay hydrated. Text me if you think of anything else you need," he offered.
