A/N: Sorry for the lack of updates lately! I was away at a conference last week and didn't have much time to write!

Taylor felt her body relax the moment she received the confirmation that Travis's flight had landed safely. It had only been ten days since they were last together, but with everything that had happened in that short span of time, it had felt much longer. The original plan had been for Travis to join her in Singapore for the last few shows before her next break, followed by a relaxing week at a private resort before album promo started. She had been surprised when Travis had called the day prior, sheepishly asking if she would mind if he made the trip out to see her for a few nights.
"So uhh... what do you have planned for the rest of your days off?" Travis asked, flopping backwards onto his hotel bed.
"We're going to the zoo later today to see the kangaroos," Taylor said excitedly, bringing her phone closer so he could see her face.
"That sounds like fun," Travis replied, his voice distant.
"Trav? Everything okay?" Taylor questioned, noticing that something seemed off.
"Yeah yeah. Everything's good," he reassured her, "I was just thinking. I have a few days off, what would you think if I flew down to see you? Maybe see a few sights, grab dinner together? We could call it an early six month anniversary."
"Travis, are you sure you want to come all this way just to get dinner? We'll be together next week anyway. Not that I don't want to see you, of course! I just don't want you to feel like you need to go to all that trouble," Taylor rambled.
"I uhh... I sort of just really need to see you," Travis admitted quietly, "And I may have already talked to Tree about the logistics of getting down there."
Taylor couldn't help but laugh, listening as Travis explained his travel plans, including all the lengths he and his friends were going to in an effort to keep his plans a secret from the fans and media alike. She had to admit, he had put a lot of thought into the plan, despite it being so last minute. No one had ever put in so much effort just to see her for a few days. But she couldn't shake the feeling that something bigger was going on, why else would he bother to fly halfway around the world for her?
Twenty minutes after their flight had landed, Travis and Ross arrived at Taylor's hotel. Someone from her security team had graciously offered to bring Travis straight to her suite, leaving a few of the other guys to help Ross bring in their luggage and get settled in his own room.
Taylor couldn't resist the temptation to wait by the door for him, flinging the door open and rushing into his arms after only one knock. After quickly closing the door behind them, she allowed herself to melt into his embrace, incredibly grateful to be back in his arms.
"I missed you so much baby," he mumbled, pressing kisses to the top of her head as they slowly rocked back and forth.
"Are you feeling okay?" Taylor asked gently, noticing the deepset bags under his eyes, "Were you able to sleep on the plane at all?"
"Uhh... not really. I honestly haven't been sleeping great all week," he admitted softly.
"Oh honey," she soothed, guiding him towards the bed, "How about we take a nap together, and then I was thinking maybe we could go to the zoo later if you're feeling up to it."
"That sounds nice," Travis yawned, earning a giggle from Taylor as she crawled into bed, allowing Travis to pull her close.
About an hour later, Travis startled awake from a nightmare. While this certainly hadn't been uncommon over the past several days, part of him had hoped that he would be able to get some rest once Taylor was back in his arms. As the familiar feeling of anxiety filled his chest, he could feel his heart starting to race as his breathing grew shallow.
He felt Taylor stirring next to him, slowly waking up. As much as he wanted to comfort her back to sleep, he felt as if he was frozen to his spot, unable to slow his racing thoughts. Taylor slowly opened her eyes, blinking at the sunlight flooding the bedroom. She quickly realized that not only was Travis awake, but something was wrong. She had never seen him like this, the panic in his eyes immediately apparent. He was shaking slightly, tears welling in the corner of his eyes. She reached out hesitantly, letting out a sigh of relief as he pulled her closer.
"Shhh, I've got you, babe," she soothed, "Can you take some deep breaths for me?"
Taylor gently rubbed his back, exaggerating her own breathing until Travis was following her. She could feel him slowly starting to relax after a few minutes, the tension starting to leave his shoulders as he pulled her closer.
"I love you," he mumbled, gently kissing her forehead.
"I love you so much baby," she replied, pulling back to get a better look at his face, "Do you want to talk about it?"
"I had a nightmare again," he admitted, "I've uhhh... I've been having them a lot, actually."
"Oh Trav..." Taylor cooed.
"I'm not gonna lie, Tay. The past few days have been really rough. I've kind of been a mess," Travis admitted, avoiding eye contact.
"Oh honey. I wish there was something I could do," Taylor replied.
"Honestly, just being with you is helping. I think that's a big part of why I felt like I needed to be here this week."
Taylor pulled him in for another hug, trying to comfort him as best as she could. They talked for a while longer, Taylor listening attentively while Travis described the rollercoaster of emotions he had been experiencing and the tough conversations he had with his therapist about the guilt he was feeling about his own actions on the day of the parade. She wished there was more she could do to help him, but she was grateful that he was at least willing to open up with her and was getting the help he needed to begin to process the traumatic event he had gone through.
"How can I support you right now?" she asked, "We don't have to go out today if you want to just chill here."
"No! I definitely want to check out the zoo today, I think it'll be a good distraction from everything. I just still might be a little jumpy around loud noises," Travis explained.
"Okay. If you change your mind or want to come back at any point, just tell me. No judgment here, I just want you to be happy," Taylor promised.
"Thanks baby. We still have a little time before we have to get ready to meet everyone. Can I just hold you for a while?" Travis asked sheepishly.
"Of course," Taylor replied, happily snuggling in next to him and pulling the blankets around them both.
