"Mommyyyyyyyy!" Sophia screamed from the playroom.

Taylor quickly ran from the kitchen, pausing in the doorway to take in the sight in front of her. Her four-year old twins had been coloring together happily when she left to make herself a cup of coffee just a few minutes ago, but now Sophia was in tears while her brother, Henry, stood guiltily with a broken tiara in his hands.

"Henry Michael, why is your sister crying?" Taylor asked, trying to keep her cool.

"I dunno, Mommy. Phia's just crying," he replied, trying to hide the broken pieces of plastic behind his back.

"I not just crying, Mommy! Henry stomped on my tiara!" Sophia interrupted, "My Princess dress needs a tiara!"

"Henry, did you break your sister's tiara?" Taylor asked, giving him her best "Mom Look" while she comforted her daughter.

"Sorry, Sophie," Henry replied sadly, holding the broken pieces out to Taylor.

After getting Henry settled in the other room to calm down and think about his choices, Taylor returned to her daughter to see if they could fix the tiara. After a few minutes and a lot of glue, it was becoming apparent that it was a lost cause.

"Let's call Daddy and see if he can pick up a new one on his way home from work, okay Princess?" Taylor suggested.

"Otay Mommy!" Sophia replied, already distracted with her coloring book again.

Two hours later, Travis was finally home after a long day of coaching meetings. Luckily, he had enough time to make a quick stop at Target for a replacement tiara, much to his daughter's delight. He also grabbed a big bag of peanut butter cups for Taylor, knowing that was her latest craving.

"That way you won't have to steal out of the kids' trick or treat bags tonight," he laughed as he handed the candy to Taylor, earning an eye roll.

"Daddy! Look! I'm Rocky!" Henry called excitedly as he raced into the room in his Paw Patrol costume.

"You look awesome, buddy! Now I hear we have a little Cinderella in need of a tiara?" Travis replied, pretending to search around the room for Sophia.

"Right here Daddy!" She giggled, twirling in her blue ballgown.

"Wait!" Travis pretended to gasp, "I didn't know the real Cinderella was going to be here!"

"Daddy, it's me, silly! I'm Sophie!" she giggled.

After a few family photos, it was time to head out for some trick-or-treating. One of the many perks of their new gated neighborhood was that they felt decently safe taking the kids out to get candy from the few neighbors. A few of the guys from the security team would be tagging along with them, but they knew everyone on the cul-de-sac well at this point. The twins were still pretty young, so they were happy going to a few houses and then heading home to watch a movie.

Taylor certainly wasn't arguing with that plan, her swollen feet already aching by the time they made it to the end of the driveway. At almost 7 months pregnant, her energy levels were at an all time low and the pain in her feet was near constant. As if on cue, the baby started kicking her again, another reminder of how uncomfortable she was.

"Crazy that next year these guys'll have a little brother or sister toddling after them when we trick-or-treat," Travis said quietly as he gestured to the twins skipping ahead of them.

"I can't wait," Taylor replied, smiling up at him, "We're going to have our hands full with three kids, but I'm still excited."

Before Travis could respond, they reached the first house. They both stood back and watched as Sophia and Henry made their way up to the door, carefully choosing their candy before running back to their parents.

"Mommy! I got you a peanut butter cup for baby sissy!" Sophia announced.

"Remember girlie, we don't know if the baby is a brother or a sister yet. It'll be a surprise when they're born, okay?" Travis reminded her.

"Daddy!" Sophia replied, exacerbated, "Big sisters just know these things!"

Travis couldn't help but laugh at his daughter's big personality, something she clearly got from him. He knew better than to try to argue with her, since she had also inherited her mother's stubbornness.

After about 7 houses, both kids were starting to slow down a bit and were more than happy to hop in the wagon and head home. Taylor had gotten everything ready for a Halloween movie night, complete with blankets and matching pajamas for the whole family. They settled on a Curious George Halloween movie, not wanting anything too spooky that would cause nightmares.

Henry was fast asleep before the movie was halfway over, and Sophia wasn't far behind him. Travis carefully carried them to their beds, and by the time he got back to the living room, Taylor had fallen asleep too. He gently scooped her up, carrying her to their bedroom and getting her settled into bed before double checking that the house was locked up for the night and tidying up the living room. By the time he got to bed, Taylor was deeply asleep.

"Sweet dreams, my love," he whispered, kissing her head before crawling into bed himself.
