Guys, it's the last month of the year! Are you guys excited for 2024?
I'm not. I know, 2024 will be same as 2023.
Anyway, this week the big news was, "41 construction workers were successfully rescued after being trapped in the Uttarakhand tunnel for more than 2 weeks." From BBC's report, "
A landslide on 12 November caused a part of the Silkyara tunnel in northern India to collapse.Forty-one men were trapped by debris that stretched for about 60 metres in an enclosed space that measured an estimated 2km (1.2 miles)Rescuers made contact with the workers and began supplying them with oxygen, dry snacks and water through a pipe that was already in the tunnel.The rescue attempt hit a number of obstacles. The crew's first plan of digging through the debris using excavators was abandoned because of rocks and metal. A US-made augur machine was flown in to dig through the 60m debris wall and made significant progress - but broke down several times.In the meantime, rescuers explored other methods by which to reach the men, including by digging vertically into the debris and creating other escape routes.They also inserted a wider pipe so that workers could be given hot food, medicines and other necessities.On Friday last week the operation suffered a major setback when the augur machine broke down and could no longer be used – so rescuers began to manually dig through the debris.Authorities brought in around two-dozen "rat-hole miners" - people trained in narrow tunnel navigation. They used handheld tools to clear the last few metres of debris to get to the workers.The men were extracted one by one today via a pipe 90cm (3ft) in diameter, which was inserted through the rubble of the collapsed tunnel.They were taken away in a number of ambulances for medical checks, but none are thought to be injured."
For me, this week was "backup" week. Let me explain.
I talked about my samsung phone getting damaged one or two chapters ago. Well, on the next Sunday, I bought my new phone. But I don't have backup from the previous phone yet, like contacts, sms & stuff.
After fixing the J4, the touch response isn't good as previously was. But its manageable. I can make phone calls & stuff. But while sending sms, send button isn't responsive.
Last chapter, I was talking about "Pippa". Quite frankly, if Pippa means "Tin can" in Bengali; then the original pronunciation would be "Pipa"
Anyway, I watched the movie & couldn't find the "Karar Oi Louho Kopat" in the entire screenplay! Maybe makers have removed it from the latest versions, idk. Otherwise, its a okayish film for me. I didn't mind the acting, but it wasn't enough for me to be invested in the story.
Lastly, Happy Birthday Jin Oppa in advance. I know you won't be seeing this. But still, I hope you have great day ahead. I hope you & your seniors, your comrades celebrate your birthday. Your inbox get filled with birthday wishes of your loved ones.
