Breathe in
The shadows play at night
Obsidian ink in my eyes
All I see is the darkness caving inBreathe out
All the doubt in my mind
Spiralling down
Til I'm lost insideNow I'm gasping for breath
Grasping, for a hold on my heart
Gripping til it leaves marks
It's a stark reminderOf the night in me
Its seeped bone deep
Tar and ebony
Obscuring the secrets I keepBreathe in
This forest and the trees
Branches caught in my throat
Strangling my screamsFor release
Breathe out
The night is deep
The horrors are plenty
I wail at the skyAnd wonder why
I scream at the moon
And wonder if
I'll ever get outAlive
