Chapter 4

"Aarohi beta, mujhe lagta hai. Tumhe shaadi kar leni chahiye, (Aarohi, my child, I think you should get married,)" Manjari mustered up the courage to say to her daughter-in-law. She had been contemplating for a long time, and seeing her grandchild's condition, she couldn't delay it. She had discussed it with the Goenkas before she announced it at the dining table when everyone was having dinner.

"Maa. Aap jaante hain, mujhe shaadi mein koi interest nahi hai. Main khush hoon aap logon ke saath. Neil ke jaane ke baad maine apne aap ko sambhala hai, Roohi ke liye. Aur aap hi batao, kaun ek vidhwa se shaadi karega? Jo ek maa hai. (Mom. You know, I have no interest in getting married. I'm happy with you guys. After Neil passed away, I've gathered myself up, for Roohi. And tell me one thing, who will marry a widow? Who is a mother.)" Aarohi had received a lot of hate for being a widow, with people saying she was a bad omen because her husband died within a few months of marriage.

She liked Neil and had started loving him, but life had other plans. Before they could bond over their baby and deepen their love, Neil was taken away from her, leaving a baby behind to nurture.

The eight-year-old kid, Shivansh, listened to the elders' conversation while being fed morsels of roti with rajma by his mother, who thought to help his grandmother. He said, "Dida, aap kyun nahi Abhi chachu ki shaadi Aarohi chachi se karva deti hain. Roohi ko papa chahiye na. Roohi ke dost toh Chachu ko Roohi ka papa samajhte the. Unhe aaj pata chala ke woh uske papa nahi hain, aur usse tease karne lage. Maine toh unhe daanta bhi. Par bechari Roohi ko bahut hurt hua. (Grandma, why don't you get Uncle Abhi married to Aunt Aarohi? Roohi wants a father and Roohi's friends think Uncle is Roohi's dad. They found out today that he isn't her father and teased her. I told them off but in all that Roohi got hurt."

Hearing Shivansh's words, Abhimanyu dropped his spoon, choking on his food. Aarohi quickly grabbed an empty glass, filled it with water, and passed it to Abhimanyu. Patting his back, she asked, "Tum theek ho na? (Are you okay?)"

"Haan. (Yes.)" He nodded and resumed eating his food without thinking about what their interaction made the elders in the family think.

Harshvardhan, Manjari, Anadvardhan, and Mahima smiled at each other, knowing what they had to do next. They knew that Abhimanyu and Aarohi's marriage could make Roohi's wish come true, and the two souls would also find a life partner in each other. They also knew they couldn't force them to get married, and it would be their decision.

I hope you liked the chapter!

Was Shivansh's dialogue too much for a kid, or it made sense?

Also, my semester for uni has ended and my finals are going to begin. So, the updates for this book will be slow.
