Abhirohi ff: Love & Friendship

Before starting the chapter, I wanna clarify Manjari and Harshvardhan's relationship. In my story, he wouldn't have cheated on Manjari with whomever he cheated on in the show and they aren't divorced. I can't remember the girl's name Harshvardhan cheated on. Neil and Abhimanyu are real siblings. Their relationship was on the verge of ending because they couldn't spend some time with each other, after their children's birth. Harshvardhan was busy with work, and spending time with children.  Manjari was immersed in housework and her children's upbringing. They didn't realize what they lacked in their relationship, leading to misunderstandings.

After Abhi's divorce and while helping Aaru take care of Roohi, their relationship improved and started blooming. It hasn't improved full-fledgedly but subtly. Like complementing each other, taking care of each other, being there in difficult times.

❖Chapter 5❖

The elders of the Birla family stood at the doorsteps of Goenka's residence to come and talk to them about the marriage of Aarohi and Abhimanyu.

Swarna opened the door, surprised by the Birla's sudden appearance. Nevertheless, she greeted them with a 'namaste' and let them in the foyer.

In no time, all the elders of the Goenka and Birla families were in the drawing room, chit-chatting with a cup of chai and a platter of snacks: kachori, pakoras, samosas, and namkeen. The youngsters were out and about with work that needed to be done.

"Waah, Kachori toh bahut laajawab banati hai aap Swarna ji, (Wow, you make wonderful Kachori's, Swarna ji,)" Manjari exclaimed, tempted to lick the plate but held back, since, it would look bad, as this was Anisha's sasural.

*sasural = a girl's in-laws 

"Haan. Sach mein Swarna ji. Recipe aap Mahima ko bata de. Humbhi try karna chaate hai banane ki, (Yes. Really Swarna ji. Please tell Mahima the recipe. We also want try this recipie,)" Anandvardhan complimented, wanting the secrets of such spectacular cooking. Snacks were usually ordered in the Birla household, while Goenka's liked them homemade to ensure the food was a little bit healthy, even if it was a placebo.

Swarna was touched by the compliments. "Zaroor, Manjari ji. Mahima ji, main aapko zarur recipe bataungi. (For sure, Manjari ji, Mahima ji, I'll tell you the recipie,)" She replied with a smile.

"Aap liko. (You guys write it down.)" She told, making Mahima take out her phone and type down the recipe as Swarna spoke.

The conversations continued, and Harshvardhan changed the topic to the needed discussion and the purpose of the visit. "Humne Aarohi ki shaadi ki baat ki thi. Aur hume ek achha ladka mil gaya hai. Agar aapko etraaz na ho. Humne Aarohi se shaadi baat ki thi, par voh shaadi ke liye maan nahi rahe hai. Kehte hai koi ek vidwa se shaadi nahi karega. Aur baat bhi sahi hai uski. Main yeh nahi keh raha ki ek widow dobara shaadi nahi kar sakti, par humara samaj isko ache tareke se nahi lehta. Isliye humne socha hai ki Abhimanyu aur Aarohi ki shaadi karva dete hai. Woh dono ab achhe dost hai. Ek dusre ko samajhte hai. Hum sabne dekha kaise woh dono ek dusre ko sambalte hai. Aapko kya lagta hai, yeh sahi hai ki nahi. (We had talked about Aarohi's marriage. And we found a good match for her.  When we talked to Aarohi about her marriage, she didn't agree. She said no one will marry a widow. And she is right. I'm not saying a window can't remarry, but our society doesn't accept it openly. That's why we thought to get Abhimnayu and Aarohi married. They are good friends now. They understand each other. We saw how both of them support each ither. What do you guys think. Is this right or not.) " 

The Goenkas were taken aback by his words. Aarohi and Abhimanyu were ex-fiancés. Yes, the marriage broke, but getting them married for the sake of Roohi was a bit questionable. But the past is past. They knew AbhiRohi's equation had changed. They've heard their banter, they've seen how far both of them have come. Akhilesh, Manish, Swarna, and Surekha exchanged glances, asking what to say. The environment that was loud and bustling was now still. Manish broke the silence by replying, "Harsh ji, main samjta hoon, aap humare bachon ki balaye ki liye yeh phesla liya hai. Hume koi aapati nahi hai is phesle se, par yeh rishta aage bare ga, only if they both consent. (Harsh ji, I understand, you have taken this decision for the sake of our children. We have no objection to this decision, but this relationship will continue, only if they both consent.)"

Manish's words brought a smile to everyone's face as they were becoming rishtedars again with a new relation added, only if the duo agreed.

*rishtedars = relatives.
