Chapter 15

The next morning, sunlight peeked through the windows giving an ambience to the room. The couple were sleeping—dreams playing their role.

The door clicked open, small feet tip-toed to the bed. With the help of her little hands, Roohi climbed the bed and squished herself between her parents. She hugged Tuffy and slept.

Half an hour later, Aarohi woke up—to an utter surprise, she saw her husband and daughter hugging each other, all bundled up, soft snores echoed throughout the room. Tuffy was left alone. When did she come here?

My cheeky beti. Aarohi scooted a bit closer and kissed both of them on the forehead. Her feet touch the floor and she goes to the toilet and showers. Putting on brown trousers and an off-white linen blouse, she left the bathroom. She goes near the dresser and takes her makeup out. She was done with the makeup base and picked up a Kohl pencil to apply to her water line when she accidentally knocks her moisturizer down.

The daughter-father duo wakes up to "noise".

"Matashree hume sone do. Aap apni lopa poti baad mein karlena," Roohi groggily said while she rubbed her eyes.

"Hmm. Matashree sone do," Abhimanyu said, as well not realizing Roohi was supposed to be in her room. They hugged each other and slept again.

"Utto tum dono, phir main batati hoon." She mutters and picks up the bottle from the floor and places it back on the dresser. She finishes getting ready and makes her way to the kitchen.

She, Shefali, Manjari, and Mahima quickly prepare breakfast. Aarohi goes back to her room. The duo were still sleeping. She snatches the blanket from them. Abhimanyu woke up but Roohi was whining, not wanting to go to school.

"Shona, uth jao," Aarohi said, caressing her hair softly.

"Nahi. Please." Roohi showed her puppy eyes.

"That ain't happening Miss. Roohi Birla. Get your ass off the bed," Aarohi said strictly.

"Fine." She got out of bed and strode to the bathroom.

Aarohi helped her get ready with the things she needed help in. While doing so she asked, "School mein koi pareshan karta hai aapko?"

Roohi eyes watered.

Aarohi wiped her tears with the pad of her thumb. "Please mujhe batao. I'm sorry for ignoring you, Bacha."

"Mere friends. Woh jab mujse baat karte hai toh mujhe acha nahi lagta. It hurts so much Mumma." Roohi sobbed.

Aarohi hugged her and calmed her down. "Aacha, aaj aap ghar pe raho. Hum sham ko iss bare mein discuss karte hain."

"Hm." Roohi hugged her matashree back, feeling warmth and love.

She got her dressed and they went to the dining room. They sat in their respective chairs.

"Aaj Roohi school nahi ja rahe?" Manjari asked, wanting to confirm.

"Haan. Hum reasons after work discuss karenege." She said.

They all agreed and they continued having breakfast.

It was lunchtime, Abhimanyu and Aarohi were in Aarohi's cabin.

"Roohi school kyun nahi jaana chahti thi?" Abhimanyu asked breaking the silence in the room.

"I didn't want her too. She's getting bullied in school."

"Uh?"

"Yes. I can't believe that I never paid attention to her behaviour. Remember, when she wasn't eating anything. Shivansh had told us all that her friends were bullying her. We should've taken action right then. Par, what we can do now is. Talk to the principal."

"Yes. Your right. Hum kal chale jayenge wahan," Abhimanyu said, taking her hand in his. They continued with lunch. Chatting in between. Once, lunchtime was over, he went to Parth's cabin in his break to talk with him.

"Tum."

"Kuch baat karne the!" Abhimanyu said. He took a seat and placed his elbows on the desk.

"Go ahead." Parth gave him all his attention.

"What are your thoughts on changing Shivansh's school?"

"Um. To be honest, I've never considered this. Neither has Shefali. Is this about Rooh?" he asked.

"Yes. She's been getting bullied in school. Aarohi and I have decided to talk with the principal. But if the bullying doesn't stop then we'll switch schools. That's the only thing I can think of at the moment."

"Agar ye baat hai. Phir main Shefali ki saath discuss karne tumne batadun ga. Aur most importantly mujhe Shivansh se puchna chayihe usse karna hai ke nahi." Parth said.

"Haan." Abhimanyu realozed he hadn't asked Roohi if she wanted to switch schools. He should do it right away.

Abhimanyu looked at his wrist-watch. It read 3:26 p.m. "I gotta go. Breaks over," He said and walked out.

Later that day, in the evening. The Birla family gathered in the living room, to discuss. The children were asked if they wanted to switch schools which they had no hesitation in. It was concluded that Abhimanyu and Aarohi will talk it out with the principal and if the issue isn't resolved. They will switch schools.

Everyone was happy with the decision except for Aarohi. She didn't like that fact that Abhimanyu never talked to her about the school switching topic. She didn't have any issues with it, but she felt left out.

At night, Aarohi decided to talk it out. When they were ready to go to bed and all tucked up, she pulled out the conversation.

"Abhi, tumhe mujse bhi puchna chaihe tha, before discussing it with everyone."

Abhimanyu turned to her side and said, "About what?"

"Switching schools. I'm her mother. I should've known." She let out an exasperated sigh.

"I'm sorry, Ro." He felt bad.

"It's okay. Jo hogaya so hogaya. Par agli baar mujhe inform karke koi bhi decision lena, okay?"

"Tum pakka naraz nahi ho?" he asked.

"Pakka." She gave him a small smile.

"Okay." He poked her nose. She was shocked and threw her pillow at him. He hit her back. They started a playful pillow fight. At the end; Aarohi was on top of Abhimanyu.

What he did next left her frozen. He had pecked her on the lip.

She knew they are married and it wasn't bad. So she pressed her lips on his and raked through his hair. And Abhimanyu kissed her back.

🙈🙈
