❖Chapter 11❖
"Shona, aap humare saath so jao." Aarohi told her daughter who exclaimed, "Yaay."
(Shona, you sleep with us.)
Roohi brushed her teeth with the help of Aarohi and changed into her night suit to be lying in the middle of the bed. It was her first time sleeping with her poppy and her matashree. Her wish of a happy family came true. Whenever her friends told her about their parents, they always said that they slept with both of their parents, leaving Roohi in her friend circle that had an absent parent.
Aarohi laid beside her daughter making Roohi her shield so she is in a safe place. What happened a few hours ago played in her head. She was too shy to face Abhimanyu. Up until now, she managed to avoid him as much as she could. However, she knew she couldn't face him yet. She patted her daughter to sleep. She heard the door click and immediately closed her eyes.
Abhimanyu entered at the sight of a mother-daughter sleeping in each other's arms. He laid on the bed. kissing Roohi's head, and taking advantage of the situation, he pecked Aarohi's forehead as well, assuming she was asleep.
The next morning was mundane as usual after they both came home. Abhimanyu came out freshly showered. Aarohi took her clothes with her and hung them on the wall hook. She turned to grab her facewash from the sink but she found herself on the floor with an aching body. She tried to get up but it all went bad. She again landed on the floor, with a stinging sensation in her back. She didn't want to face him but she had no choice left but to call for her husband.
"Abhimanyu!" She shouted.
Abhimanyu who was combing his hair was startled by Aarohi's voice. He went to the doorsteps of the bathroom and knocked on it, "Aarohi, kuch hua hai?"
(Did something happen?)
"Please bathroom mein aa jao." She pleaded she wanted to scold him for not wiping the wet floor, but the pain clouded her mind. She just wanted to get out of this situation right now.
(Please come into the bathroom.)
"Main... main kaise?"
(I... how can I?)
"Maine kapde pehene hai, please." The door swung open. Abhimanyu crouched down to Aarohi, helping her get up, but she was in so much pain and was unable to. She wasn't trying to show, but he could clearly tell, so he scooped her up in his arms and made her lay on the bed, not caring about dirtying the bed sheets.
(I'm wearing clothes.)
"Tum theek ho na, Kahan dard ho raha hai?" he asked with concern. He felt guilty for not sweeping the floors again.
(You're okay, right.)
(Where is it paining?)
Aarohi winced, "Mere peeth mein bahut dard hai. Peeth ke bal gir gaye thi main, woh bhi itni zor se."
(I have a lot of pain in my back. I fell on my back, that too with so much force.)
"I'm sorry Roh, I promise mein dyhan rakhunga agli baar." He sat beside her and held her hand. A little while later, he went to the kitchen to fetch an ice pack, wrapping it around a kitchen towel, he gave it to her, placing it on her back. "Yeh dard thoda kam karega."
(I'll keep my promise next time.)
(It will lessen the pain.)
She hummed and relaxed, a little while later she went for a warm shower, and when her pain was reduced, after showering she came out to Abhimanyu sitting on the bed with a tube, and with the bed sheets changed.
Abhimanyu got up from the bed. "Bed par let jao."
(Lay down on the bed.)
"Kyun?" She asked.
(Why?)
"Yeh dawa lagani hai. You have a bruise on your arm, Roh," he stated. She lay on the bed while Abhimanyu rubbed the topical cream on the bruise. When he was done, he tucked her in the blanket and went downstairs to grab dinner for them.
(I want to apply this antiseptic cream.)
⁂
(A/N: The next scene has been generated with the help of chatGPT. Mujhe toh sangeet ka "A" bhi nahi aata. I copied and pasted what ChatGPT had written from the prompt and added my magic to it. 😉)
"Namaste, aaj hum sursangar karenge sangeet ka." She greeted her students who ranged from 5-year-old kids to 15-year-old teenagers, "Sangeet ka ek bahut important hissa sur hai, jo humein alag-alag swaron ka experience karne mein madad karta hai."
(Today, we will talk about the importance of harmonious music)
(Music is a significant part of our lives; it helps us experience different tones and melodies.)
She started with the basics, "Sabse pehle, humare sursangat sangeet mein sa re ga ma pa dha ni hote hain. Yeh surs ka karam hai, jo humein ek sundar sangeet banane mein madad karta hai." She explained to the children with so much passion and confidence.
(Firstly, in our harmonious music, we have the notes sa re ga ma pa dha ni. This is the sequence of notes that assists us in creating beautiful music.)
Akshara then demonstrated each note, singing them with precision and grace. "Sa, yeh humari shuruaat hoti hai. Sa se hi sangeet ka safar shuru hota hai." She encouraged her students to repeat after her, ensuring they grasped the essence of each note.
(Sa, this is our beginning. The musical journey starts with Sa.)
"Re, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni," she continued, guiding them through the musical scale. "Har ek sur ka apna ek mahatva hai. Jab hum inhe sahi taur par samajh lete hain, tab hum sangeet ko aur bhi gehraai se mehsoos kar sakte hain."
(Each note has its significance. When we understand them correctly, we can feel the depth of the music.)
"Remember, sangeet ek experience hai. Har sur, har taal, aur har raga ek kahani sunata hai. Aap sab apne apne andar chhupa hua sangeet ko bahar la sakte hain, bas usme pyaar aur samarpan hona chahiye," she concluded, ending the class.
(Remember, music is an experience. Every note, every rhythm, and every melody tells a story. Each one of you can bring out the hidden music within, just remember to infuse it with love and dedication)
⁂
Akshara entered her house, the sight brought happiness to her face. There, her mother-in-law and her son were sleeping on the couch, Geetanjali's arms secured Ranav, and toys were laid all over the floor.
She put her bag on the armchair picked up Ranav, and took him to his cot in her room, tucking him in properly. She returned and told her mother-in-law to continue sleeping who had woken up due to not feeling her grandson's presence. She picked up and cleaned the living room quietly.
The kids returned from school and were given a snack after the dishes filled with platters of food were emptied waiting for them to be washed. She collected the dirty dishes and put them in the sink. She was scrubbing a plate when a muscular hand came and started rinsing the dishes. She looked to her left and smiled and continued her work. When all the dishes were done, she wiped her hands with a hand towel and kissed the cheek of her helper husband. A hand wrapped around her waist pulling her closer, she closed her eyes as she felt a warm lip on her forehead.
Just a small window of Akshara and Abhinav's life.
I tried to write all of the dialogues in Hindi, both Hindi and Punjabi aren't my first languages though Punjabi is my mother tongue. English is my first language. So correct any errors if you see them.
Hope you all liked the chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it 💗. Love you all!
