Chapter 17

While the Pogues were trying to figure out a plan, the Cameron family returned together. Everyone. Sarah, while was sitting on the chair, saw someone coming from the door. It was her father. Ward. She was so shocked that she couldn't believe at her eyes. She cried all of her tears, she was sad and depressed for her father till that moment and now she found out that everything was a lie. She was angry and also disgusted with her father, as always. Meanwhile Rafe was a little bit proud of himself, because he finally proved to his father that he was better than Sarah. At least this is what he thought untill that moment. While Ward was talking to Sarah, he said that she was his favourite one. In that moment Rafe felt like a knife in his heart. After everything he had done, his father was still not grateful.
Meanwhile Jane finally had a plan.
"I'm going out to explore everything and then I'm coming back to warn you. Ok?"
JJ: "Absolutely not. You can't go out alone. I'm coming with you"
K: "Yeah he is right. Is too dangerous for you"
J: "Seriously guys? nothing is gonna happen to me and I know this boat better than all of you"
P: "Do you understand who is out there? Bad people..really bad people"
J: "Oh come on Pope if someone wants to hurt me I'm gonna fight don't worry"
K: "You want to do it all alone? You're fucking out of your mind"
J: "Oh come on Kie don't be so heavy. I'm gonna do it. I-"
JB: "They're right Jane. You can't go alone you need someone"
J: "don't act like you're my father that has the right to tell me what do or not, John B. None of you has this right. I'm going alone. 5 minutes and I'll be back. I assure you"
And then she immediately disappeared and went out of that little window. She was so pissed off. She knew that nothing was gonna happen. Jane just wanted to explore the boat.
While she was walking in the hallways, she heard someone coming out from the door. It was a big man who was working there. She immediately stopped and hid behind a corner. She was safe...for now. Then Jane continued to walk until she heard some voices. She couldn't understand what they were saying, so she decided to come back to her friends and tell them what she saw until that moment.While she was coming back someone took her harm and putted an hand on her mouth. She was trying to scream but the voice couldn't go out. She was so scared, but when the hand went down and looked behind her all of that fear disappeared.
"What the hell are you trying to do?!" screamed the girl, but was immediately stopped again by that hand. "Do not scream. What are you doing here?". Rafe was shocked. "It's none of your business kook" answered Jane and tried to get away, but he stopped her by taking her arm again. "I know why you're all here". The pogue stopped and looked at him while was trying to hide her pain. "What?" Rafe knew perfectly that all the Pogues were looking for the cross. "I'm not gonna hurt you but-" "Stop saying bullshits Cameron. You almost killed Pope. Now let me go or I swear that-" "You swear what? That you're gonna ask for help? Do you really think that all those men don't know that I'm here?". Jane looked at him shocked. Of course everyone knew he was there. He was Rafe Cameron. "If you don't want me in trouble then leave me" said the girl while she was trying to free herself. "Pogue
stop for fucking hell" yelled him "Look at me while I'm talking to you". Jane hated that sentence. Look at me. Why? Why he always wanted her to look at him?
"I'm trying to not get you in trouble" "Oh so now you care about me? Please. You just care about yourself and the gold" "Fine, but the next time if you're gonna need my help-" "If I'm gonna need your help? When exactly am I gonna need your help?"
"Who's there?" said a voice. Jane gasped surprised and Rafe re-covered her mouth with the hand and putted her closer to his chest. Rafe walked back to hide them while looking around. Jane was following him even if she couldn't see anything.He was way taller than her and the girl's head just arrived under his neck. She looked up at him. He was so horrible and selfish, but now he was protecting her. After that the man was gone they returned normal again. "This was one of that moments" said Rafe a little bit annoyed. "Fine" said Jane disappointed "If you really want to help me then don't hurt my friends anymore" "Again you and those friends? Seriously? I can protect you not a bunch of disgusting Pogues" He looked at her again. That was what he thought about those guys, but maybe those weren't the perfect words to say in front of her. She was looking at him disgusted. "You need to get out of here. You don't understand. If my father-" "You're what?" She was hoping that she heard something wrong, but Rafe's expression said the opposite. "You're father is alive?" "Lower your voice and yes he is alive". He regretted what he said and now he was more annoyed and pissed off than before. Jane was shocked and a feeling of fear appeared in her eyes. "Rafe come" yelled Rose. "Shit" said Rafe "Jane you need to leave. It's not safe here for you" "Shut the hell up you want us to leave so you can get the cross" Rafe looked at her. "You are a fucking little slut pogue" he was so angry with the girl and he actually didn't know the reason. He was trying to help her but she could just think about him as her friend."I was right. You'll never change" she was disgusted by his presence. "Rafe where the hell are you?" insisted Rose. "No I'll never change. Now go straight and then turn on the left. You'll find a little white door. It will conduce you right out of here" "Why are you-" "Go for fucking hell Jane". She didn't understand why he was helping her, and actually neither the boy did. He hated her and so she did, but he just felt that she needed to be helped. "Oh you're here Jesus. What were you doing?" said Rose. The boy looked back to see the girl that was disappeared some seconds before. "I just needed some air" "Ok fine. Come the dinner is ready".
When Jane was out she couldn't believe at what just happened. Ward was alive and Rafe saved her even if they hated eachother.  She was just so confused but that wasn't the right moment to think about those problems. She needed to warn her friends immediately.
