Chapter 18

After some minutes Jane came back to her friends and tried to enter from the window without making a sound.
K: You're alive Jane, Jesus. We were worried about you. What happened? Are you hurt? Did you find the cross?
Kie was so worried about Jane, like everyone. They thought that the girl was hurted or worse...dead.
Jane: Jesus Kie calm down I'm good. I'm just sweat like hell.
JJ: yes we can smell it
J: shut up asshole
P: So have you find the cross?
J: No but I found Rafe
At that moment everyone got scared.
JB: Did you see Sarah?
J: No, but I heard Rose
K: I fucking hate that slut
J: And there was also another person...
P: Who?
J: Rafe said that Ward was there... He's alive
When Jane said those words the Pogues couldn't believed at them. The murder and thief that they hated the most was still alive.
K: I swear to God that I'm gonna kill him
JB: Is Sarah hurted?
J: no i don't think so
JJ: Fine then the only thing that we can do is kill him and take the cross
P: we are not gonna kill him JJ. We just need to take the cross
J: Pope is right, but it's not gonna be simple.
JJ: Then we'll do everything we can
JB: Fine, but just be careful.

Meanwhile Rafe was back with his family, but he was thinking about something else...or someone else.
"You good?" asked Sarah to her brother "Why you ask?" "You just look shocked... something happened?" Rafe was looking at her with a suspicious expression. "Yes everything is ok" "You sure you didn't meet anyone?".
Sarah knew something about him and Jane.
Rafe was still looking at her with the same face but this time he was a little bit scared. He didn't know if tell her that he knew about her friends or tell his sister about Jane. "I'm thirsty" said the blonde guy and then he got up to take a glass of whiskey. "You met Jane. Is it right?" said his sister and at that moment Rafe stopped while was up. "What do you mean?" Said him and he turned back slowly. "I know there's something up between you an Jane and I also understood that the Pogues are here because is something that they would do. So now tell me, have you met Jane?"
He was looking at her suspiciously and he didn't know what to say.
"Hey guys" said a voice. It was Wheezie "mom wants us" "Yeah start to go, I'm coming later" said Rafe. "Fine" answered Wheezie and then she disappeared with Sarah that was following her. Rafe needed to be alone in that moment and needed to think about that situation. Jane was there and he met her, but that also meant that all the Pogues were there because of the cross. He needed to decide if hurt the pogues and think about the cross, or think about Jane and sacrifice the cross.

Rafe's mind
What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I still thinking about that stupid slut? Why did I take care of her? Also Sarah noticed something, but maybe she just wanted to get me in trouble so that I could tell her about her friends.

He was wondering about many things, but his mind was always filled up by Jane.

Meanwhile the Pogues got out and started to search the cross, but Jane couldn't be focused on that because she was actually hoping something else. She wasn't looking for the cross, but she was looking for Rafe.

Jane's mind
Why does he care? What the fuck is wrong with him. Jesus I hate him. He just pisses me off and he is so selfish. I fucking hate him. I could've die and he saved me, but why?

They were both thinking about each other and both of them couldn't understand why. He was wondering about his feelings, while she was thinking about his behaviour. The only question that they weren't asking to themselves was "What do I feel for them?". Maybe they still didn't understand that, but Sarah and another person did.
Kie: Are you ok Jane?
Jane: Yes thanks...why?
Kie: just asking...you sure nothing happened while you were out?
Jane: of course, what could've happen?
Kie: I don't know but since you met Rafe you look weird.
Jane: don't worry he didn't hurt me.
Kie: Oh I know I'm talking about that.
Jane looked at her scared, maybe she understood something about her and Rafe.
Jane: Then what do you mean?
Kie: I know nothing but I just noticed something between you and Rafe. You both look weird.
Jane: If you are wondering about my feelings for him, then the answer is that I hate him. And I think that he hates me too.
Kie: Oh yeah I know this but you both look weird.
Jane: What do you mean Kie?
Kie: You met him before and he was supposed to hurt you at least. We all know Rafe and we all know his hate for us. But he didn't. You came here and just said that you have met him. So my question is what happened between you two?
Jane was listening to the girl and actually it was weird, but the problem was that neither Jane knew what was going on.
Jane: You're right, it's weird. He didn't hurt me. We just talked.
Kie: Rafe Cameron that talks with a Pogue without hurt him? That's really weird.
Jane: Yeah I know but I assure you that nothing is going on between us. Now we need to look for the cross.
Kie: Fine. I'm sorry if I pissed you off.
Jane: Oh don't worry.

All the Pogues now were looking for the cross.
Jane was thinking about that conversation with Kie and also about Rafe.
Meanwhile Rafe was thinking about Jane and about the conversation with Sarah.
