Chapter 22

The Pogues were trying to figure out a way to free Jane and Kie, but every time that they got closer to the huge house, the military men found them so they had to run away. The only thing that they didn't know was that actually Jane and Kie were gonna be out of that building soon, thanks to Rafe.

"Kie please tell where is it" asked Rafe, trying to find out some news about that diary. "I don't have it Rafe how am I supposed to tell you?". Kie was hiding the truth and meanwhile was looking for a way to get out of that place. "I have a boat here and if you tell where do you have the diary I can bring you and Jane in a safe place". He was now begging her and the only person that made him kneel was actually Jane. He realized that he had a soft spot for that girl and he wanted to protect her, at every cost. Kie kept denying everything and they were both acting like that only for Jane.
At some point they went near the window and saw a man getting pushed in a room and Carlos shooting him, after that he looked up to the two guys. Kie and Rafe got scared and looked to each other. They both knew that maybe the next one would've been Jane so they needed to get out of there as soon as possible. "I need you to be honest with me Kie, so I'm gonna ask you again. Where is the diary?" Rafe was stressed while saying those words but he was trying to focus. "I don't know Rafe, but the only thing I know is that the next victim is gonna be Jane. So now stop complaining and help me trying to find a way to free us and Jane. If you really care about her then help her". The boy looked at her speechless. She was right. Kie would never tell him if she had the diary or not, so the only way to save Jane was escape from that place.

Meanwhile Jane was in her room, next to the other guys, and was trying to find a way to escape and free them. She started to look for some weapons in the room and found a sharp peace of wood. She immediately took it and she hid behind the door. She needed to keep the military's attention and the only way to do it was screaming. When the men went in the room, he saw no one and while was looking around, Jane went out and hurted him. "Do not say a word or I'm gonna kill you alright?". The man was injured and started to bleed. She took the gun and immediately went out. Once out of the room she expected to find other men, instead there were Rafe and Kie. The two girls hugged immediately, but Jane was looking at Rafe. He was now relieved that Jane was okay. "We need to get out of here now" said the blonde guy and after those words they finally went out of the house. While they were running they saw a little van and jumped on it and stopped near the sea, where Rafe had the boat. They were now trying to get away but Kie started talking with Jane. "I have a plan" "What? We are free what are you talking about?" Jane was confused. "We are going to the others, but we can't have Rafe here" "He saved us Kie, you can't do this to him" "Are you in love Jane?" asked Kie. Jane stopped talking and looked at her in silence "Good. Then help me". Kie took Rafe's attention and when he walked to her to help her, the curly girl pushed him off the boat. In that moment Jane couldn't leave him right here and she jumped too.
K: What are you doing Jane?
J: Go. Go save them. I'll find a way to come.
K: Come with me come on.
J: I can't Kie. Now leave.

In that moment Jane and Rafe went on the shore and Kie went away with the boat. She was shocked by the decision of her friend and she didn't know how to tell to her friends. Once the Pogues were all together JJ immediately noticed that Jane wasn't there.
JJ: Where is she Kie?
K: with Rafe
S: What?
K: listen is a long story
JB: Why did you leave her alone with that psychopath?
K: She chose to go with him. I don't know why but I trust her.
P: you're crazy
K: I beg your pardon?
P: You should've insist, but you didn't and now she can be killed by Rafe.
K: Listen if there is only one person that Rafe would never hurt is Jane and she decided to go with him. If she did it it's for a reason and I trust her. Now are you all gonna blame me or do you want to help me?
Everyone didn't say a word and finally left that place. JJ knew what pushed Jane to make that decision and it was her love for Rafe. Now everything that they could do was running away and trying to solve that problem with Carlos.

Meanwhile Jane and Rafe were figuring out a way to escape from that place. "Why did you jump?" asked the boy. "You saved us and I felt guilty for you. That's all" "So now you care about me?" "No I don't. I'm just trying to do not give you a reason to kill me". She was lying and he knew that. He smirked a little bit and when she turned she saw him staring at her. "What?" "I don't believe you" "I'm telling you truth" "So you are saying that you don't care about me?" "Exactly". Lie. "But you" she continued "You definitely care about me". Rafe laughed and stopped walking "What?". Jane turned back and stopped too "Come on it's evident" "In your dreams" "I'm speaking facts Rafe" "Sure" "Oh please". They both looked at each other and smiled. Jane didn't remember those blue eyes being so wonderful and Rafe didn't remember those hazel eyes to be so magnetic. Jane was literally falling into those eyes, just like Rafe, but they needed to get safe first. "We need a plan to get out of here" said Jane, interrupting that moment and then they kept walking. Rafe agreed with her and finally figured out a way to come back. "Where are we going now?" asked the girl. "My family's house" said Rafe knowing that Jane would've been worried. "I can't Rafe" she said a little bit scared. "Listen to me" said the boy trying to reassure her, but she was too scared. "I can't, seriously I can't. What if he-" she was stopped by that voice. "Look at me and relax".
Again that sentence.
Look at me.
She did exactly like the boy said. "You are gonna be fine. I would never let him hurt you ok?

Do you trust me?".

They were staring at each other.

"Yes"

Said the girl politely.

She trusted him.

She was safe with him.

She knew it.
