Chapter 1

Author's POV

A few years ago

Her face look traumatised, her eyes swollen after continuosly crying for days. Her hair looked like a birds nest but that did not bother her. She noticed how she changed with the events that happened in her life. She lost a lot of weight, her eyes had dark circles around them, her lips dry and chapped. It seemed to her that she has forgotten how to be happy or even smile.

The mirror, mirrored the older version of herself in front of her. She looked carefree, chripy, charming. She looked tall, her figure enabled her to dress in everything and anything perfectly. Her hair wavy and curly. Her personality potrayed bubbly positivity.

Past

She still remembered the words she had spoken to her class mate years ago. They were both sipping their hot masala tea relaxing on the bench. The friends spotted the couple standing under the tree. The man was leaning on the tree while the woman stood nuzzled beside him, they both were chatting, giggling forgetting the busy college ambience around them. 

Ira smiled at that and nudged her friend beside her, her friend noticed that blossoming college love and smiled back at her friend. 

Ira: Arnt they cute Neela ? Just look at them 

Neela : You better no stare too much, its rude 

Ira: I am sorry but I cannot help it. Isnt it what every women wants ? A guy who looks at her like she is the world ? You know Neela, I have decided I am going to fall in love too, madly and deeply. I am going to make every body around me to go grey with envy when they see the relationship I share with my husband. He would love me to the moon and back while he would be my everything. 

Neela: Ira, its good to dream but arnt you forgetting something ?

Ira: What ?

Neela: You forgot about your families reaction 

Ira's face lost its smile for a second before a sinster smile appeared

Ira:  He will try to convince our parents and if they wont agree he will hold my hand and run away with me. We will have a private court marraige and we will lead a beautiful romantic life. You know we will have kids too, two or three and ...

Neela cleared her throat to bring her silly romantic friend out of her day dream

Ira: What ?

Neela: All this is fine but you still did not get a guy, so come out of your dream land and focus on preparing for the interviews next week, because it was your plan in the first place to escape from your home by getting a job and just like that Ira was bought into reality that day 

Past ends

That glimpse of the past bought fresh tears in her eyes, the older version of herself taunted her and just like that she made the decision. She is going to take a step towards the freedom from all the shackles and problems that was holding her like a prisoner until now.....

Ira POV

A few years later after she made that life changing decision

Ira woke up to the continuos chiming of her alarm clock. She lazily opened her eyes and looked at her phone and she got up shocked. She slept through 4 alarms she had set. She expected that out from her, so she set multiple alarms which started ringing from a hour and a half before she had to wake up.

She hurried outside the bed and left to the washroom where she already took out the clothes she would wear today. She quickly got ready and went outside her room to see her room mates door open. Her room mate was spawled on her bed drooling after her shift ended at 4 am.

She closed her room mates bedroom door and stepped out to catch her car pool, greeting the neighbourhood kids on the way. The kids bought a smile on her face looking at the naivety and innocent smiles.

Once she reached the office she opened her emails to find that there would be a new joining who is transfering to India office from USA after working there since his internship.  He would be starting in 2 weeks which also collides with an another major upcoming conference where he would be the guest speaker.

As a HR and Admin, it was her job to collaborate and plan the travels in regards to her branch office so she pinged the senior employee to know his preferences during his travel and stay here before his accommodation is ready. She tried to be much more careful then she already is because she would be dealing with a senior most person. After recieving his prompt, short and quick replies she made the reservations and emailed him the booking information.

Once her work day ended she fell on her bed exhausted thinking about how tiring and long the upcoming weeks would be and looking at the way the speaker/senior who would be joining, along with being old and experienced, looking at the way he replied he might as well be a big pain .....

But thinking about how much she loves her people oriented company and her job she knows she has no complaints even if she has couple of difficult people to deal with.
