Ira POV

After we sat down at the bench along the river we decided to head home as it was late. We were crossing the road and I was touched by the protectiveness with which he snaked his arm around my upper back and led me through the traffic on the road.

Once we sat down Arjun drove to our place while switching on to some melodious songs from the stereo. It was peaceful with the windows rolled down, the fresh air flowing in and the love between us. A song I really loved played on the stereo and I hummed along with it without realizing I had Arjun with me and he can hear me, when I turned to his side he was driving the car with a smile on his face without interrupting or mocking me for my screechy high notes.

Me: Sorry, I got carried away

Arjun: I like your voice Iru, its very sweet. I know your high notes in some songs can go a bit wrong 

At that I gave him a scowl when he chuckled heartfully

Arjun: I was kidding, even the screeching was cute 

Me: Hey !!

I slapped his shoulder playfully while he gave out a full blown deep laughter and I sat there looking at him, he saw that and stopped laughing out

Arjun: What ?

Me: You are actually laughing out loud, not just smiling or giving me your teasing grins or nodding your head its actually cool 

He shook his head at my wonder but kept his silence until he broke it

Arjun: Its all because of you Iru, you make me smile

Me: I do ? 

Arjun: Yeah, you make me happy. I thought I was a heartless guy until I met you. Everytime your face was in a frown or whenever you had teary eyes or whenever you were happy, it mattered to me. It effected me depending on what you were going through.

I looked at him for a few seconds surprised at his candid confession and realized I did not have anything to say

Me: By the way tell me something, my name is already a short one, why are you changing it to Iru ?

Arjun: Why you dont like it ? 

Me: No, that is not the case

Arjun: Ira Rao reminds me of the HR while Iru seems mine

I blushed at that and looked out of the window

Arjun: Iru, you are mine right ?

I nodded blushing when he looked at me bending his head to his side

Arjun: You teased me for my nods and now you are the one replying with a nod. Seems like my habits rubbed off on you 

The Arjun who teases us would take a while before I get used to it. In a few minutes he turned into my apartment entrance lane. He parked his car and walked behind me to the elevator. We were alone in the elevator and I could actually get the essence of his cologne wanting to reduce the distance between us but I held my ground.

Meera opened the door when we rang the bell 

Meera: Finally you guys are here

She was suprisingly all dressed up

Me: Meera, why are you dressed up ? 

Meera: Dude, you have a boyfriend, you can understand now. I am going to my boyfriend's place. Sahil is planning to take me out. 

I smiled at that, this girl loves that guy

Me: When would you be back ?

Meera: In the morning 

She winked and left after giving me a hug while Arjun looked on. The door closed behind her and then realization dawned on me

Me: Wait, why did she act all casual seeing you here ? Why was she not shocked, she dint know that you were going to be here did she ?

I asked that with a hand on my waist while Arjun looked around the house

Me: Arjun 

Arjun: She knew I was going to propose again

Me: I knew it, no wonder she acted casual

Arjun: We met a few days before and she was sweet enough to help me after a lot of yelling and warnings. Even now she is angry that I put tears in your eyes but she helped for you. She loves you Iru, you gotta sister in her.

Me: I know, I am lucky to have her

He stepped close to me and held my face in his hands

Arjun: I am sorry for all the days you had tears in your eyes

Me: I forgive you Arjun but never do that again

His eyes grew more then normal

Arjun: I wont do that again but you forgive me ?

I realized then on what I did, I forgived him, he won the challenge. I have to kiss him. Before I freaked he tapped my cheek with his fingers

Arjun: Dont think too much about it, I wanted your forgiveness but you dont have to kiss me if it makes you uncomfortable

He stepped away taking my hand between his 

Arjun: I promise never to hurt you because of my foolishness 

Me: I believe you 

Arjun: I should go but you would be fine alone ?

Me: Yes

Arjun: Okay, lock all the doors and the balcony. If you feel scared call me okay ?

Me: Yes, Arjun. Dont worry I will be fine.

He nodded and stopped at the door

Arjun: Bye Iru

Me: Bye Arjun

He was walking away when I hummed his name and he stopped leaving. I wanted to hug him good night but I did something else. I hugged him and kissed him on his cheek while he looked at me shocked.

Me: Stay back Arjun
