Chapter 41

Arjun POV

I woke up to use the washroom when I saw Ira sleeping right in front of me on the day bed. I used the washroom and observed my girl. Her blanket was almost on the floor, her hand was hanging in the air and her hair was out of her bun. I set her hair back to look at her innocent, peaceful face and smiled to myself looking at how cute she looked. I wrapped the blanket properly and held her hanging hand putting it on her stomach.

I sat down on the low wooden stool and carressed her cheek for a second before kissing her on her forehead. I saw her mumble something in her sleep and thought to back off before she wakes up.

I went back to my sleep staring at her peaceful face. I woke up at my regular time and saw that Ira was sleeping, so I thought to surprise her. I went to the kitchen and looked at all the groceries they had. I decided to make some banana pancakes with eggs on the side with some freshly made orange juice. I put on my headphones listening to my music and started my cooking.

I was making the pancakes when I felt two hands snaking around my waist. I got scared at first but realized it would be Ira and turned towards her unplugging the music

Ira: Did I scare you ?

Me: Surprised yes but its okay . Good Morning Iru.

Saying that I kissed her on her forehead while she hugged me wishing me the same. She jumped up on the kitchen counter and sat down on front of me while I was cooking. She was staring at me with a smile on her lips while swinging her legs.

Me: Iru, stop looking at me like that 

Ira: Why ?

Me: Why means what you are distracting me from my work 

Ira: Now, you know how I felt when I was cooking yesterday 

I realized that she was right. I was ogling at her yesterday.

Me: Did it make you uncomfortable ?

Ira: No, but it did distract me many times, I have a hot boyfriend

Saying that she winked while I blushed 

Ira: Are you seriously blushing Arjun ? That is so cute .... 

Saying that she pulled my cheek and I fake glared at her but she only ended up giggling at my face. I rolled my eyes at the fact that my serious face is no longer working on her. 

Ira: Arjun, let me help too

Me: No way, you just sit there quietly

Ira: Fine, then I am clearing up after you 

Me: Fine, you can help me in cooking and clearing out the dishes 

Ira: No I ...

Me: Please let me do these stuff for my girlfriend

She smiled and nodded but started helping me plate the stuff and cutting fruits. We both were having our breakfast solving the crossword puzzle when she got a work call. She spoke about how she would meet the client tommorow and when she hung up she had a slight frown on her face

Me: Iru, are you okay ?

Ira: We have to go back to work tommorow 

Me: Yes, its monday 

Ira: I am scared

Me: Scared of what ?

Ira: Right now we are in our own little bubble. Everything is perfect but we have to face the real world tommorow. Building a crush and talking to them is different Arjun but we are in a relationship, how do we handle that ? How would we act around each other ? Dating co workers might not really be appreciated and how would we hide it because its still early and im not ready for jugdemental looks. I am an expressive person, my expressions, my heart is on my face so how do we behave in public eye ?

Me: Ira, dont worry about that. We will be like before. We are friends already, we hang out with other people, we meet for lunch and talk like friends and when we do step out of the office, we are a couple. We have to make sure our relationship does not interfere with our work nor the work interfere with our personal lives. As I said, we are Ira the HR and Arjun the boring guy at work, here we are each other's okay ?

Ira POV

His words made me blush and we continued the breakfast after which he left home and Meera came back. Next day, I took my carpool, ofcourse Arjun insisted he would drive me to work but I was insistant on the carpool as he has to come in an opposite direction and go all the way back to the office which is close to the work.

I texted him before starting and he never replied. I thought he must have already started his work but to my surprise he was in the lobby but he had his team mate talking to him and I had to compose my expressions. 

We wished each other and stepped into the slow elevator together. Me and Arjun were standing opposite each other and his team mate beside me talking about the recent change in HR policy. I heard my phone vibrate but I ignored it. Once I was alone I saw that it was my Arjun who messaged me

Arjun: "You look gorgeous today Iru, goodmorning", 

I blushed and replied back with a smiley and a blushing face. I sat down on my table and I got an another ping from Arjun

Arjun: "Wish I could have gotten a good morning hug instead of the boring good morning text. But madam wanted to ride with her best carpool friends"

Me -  Dont tell me you are sulking about that, I told you its better this way. I am saving your petrol and the environment.

Arjun: You are saving the environment, kudos to that but you broke my heart

Me: Oh baby, are you sad ? Dont worry I will make it up to you with loads of hugs once we hit the 6 PM, now stop texting me and making me blush 

Arjun: Fine, but hugs might not really make me happy, you might need to work hard - Wink Wink 

Me: Arjun ... cannot believe its you. Where is that hot, quiet and shy guy

Arjun: That guy got lucky and now has a sexy girlfriend, so he has to change his ways too right ?? 

Me: Careful, that girl must have fallen in love with how quite the guy was so she might quickly fall out of love with this cheesy guy whose words have a double meaning ...

I sent a shrugging emoji after that while he sent an angry face 

I rolled my eyes at the way the messages were going. My eyes met his and I showed him that I switched off my phone with a teasing smile and kept it in the bag for which he sulked more, throwing his cell phone on the side.
