Ira POV

Me: Arjun, what is she talking about ?

My mother: Yeah, tell her what you did. Ira, although you let us down so many times I know you will side with us 

Me: Mother, can you please shut it ? I am talking to my boyfriend here, please leave from here , there is a coffee shop downstairs. Go, have it and wait for me there.

Mother: Fine, whatever 

She walked out and I folded my hands staring at Arjun

Me: Out with it

Arjun: What your mother said was true. I was planning to make them homeless for mistreating you, for interfering with your life and for mentally abusing you

Me: And how would you make them homeless ?

Arjun: Its a long story Iru but you have to trust me that I never had any negative intentions

Me: Okay

Arjun: So, in the recent times just like you have gotten close to my family you remember you making me talk to your paternal relatives. They were friendly and sweet and I could see that they genuinely care about you. So, I discussed the scenario with them. They know you are estranged ofcourse so I spoke to them on how they were trying to bother you even though they cut off from you. They revealed that the house they were staying was your father's which means it was your's. So, I tried to put that pressure on them saying that if they bother you then we both will make them leave your house and sell it off.  They asked me on what basis I am I trying to put that pressure on them and I told them I am your boyfriend 

Me: I dont think that would have any imapact on them

Arjun: It did not actually so I told them, soon enough I would be your fiancee and husband in future so I asked them to watch out before behaving rudely with you

Me: YOU WHAT ? You told them you were going to be my husband ? Arjunnn 

Arjun: What ? I am your boyfriend now and I am looking at a long term union here so tell me if you have any other intentions

Me: It is not about intentions Arjun, dont the girl you would be marrying in the future know that you want to be her husband ?

Arjun: Fine I did not ask because we were still in the beginning of the relationship

Me: Exactly, and you went and announced it to the parents ?

Arjun: Well I had to, the way they were trying to torture you mentally did not sit well with me and I did what I had to do 

Me: You did not have to do what you did I was handling it

Arjun: How were you handling it exactly, you were stressed out, you had anxiety the few days they called you. You literally shut down for an hour or so 

Me: At the end of the it was my problem Arjun, you did not have to interfere at all 

He caught hold of my shoulders and looked at me with anger

Arjun: Seriously, you are telling your boyfriend to back off for those people who mentally abuse you ? Damn you are very silly, if you still think they will love you if you put up a fight with me

Me: ARJUN you know I dont crave for their attention as you are putting it, I was ...

Arjun: You were what ? You might ask me to back off and I will okay ? Let them torture you, why do I care ? Oh yes, I am foolish to think you would be happy that I intervened 

Me: So you want me to be grateful for you ? Oh Arjun, you are my night in shining armor you saved my life ... blablabla

Arjun: I dont have to take this, I am leaving 

Me: Go, why do I care ? In your words, I care about my mother's approval, who are you to me ?

Arjun: Exactly who I am I ?

He said that, walking out and banged the door shut while Meera stood there with a mocking smile

Me: What ?

Meera: You guys are such idiots fighting like kids 

Me: He said ...

Meera: You guys sort it out, I dont care. Oh, btw I saw your mother in that Cafe, if she is what caused your fight, then the kind of stupid person you are I am not surprised you let her get to you

Me: Meera, you dont know the context 

Meera: Ofcourse I do, he and me we both planned this to save you from your family. He discussed it with me because he was worried about you and what wrong did he actually do ? 

Me: You dont know what I am actually worried about ?

I went and sat down on the couch with a sigh 

Me: He is wrong, I dont care about her approval, I have been independent all my life, I am independent when I started dating him so it seems unfair that Arjun is stuck with fighting my battles when he does not have to and I am worried that with his interferance he would be in their radar and what if they cause any harm to him. They have tortured me for 3 years now for divorcing that crap bag, imagine what they must be plotting if Arjun got involved and he was talking about being my husband ...

Meera: Wait, did he already propose to you

Me: Wait was he planning to ? 

Meera: No not that I know of

Her expression told me they did something behind my back

Me: Meera ...

Meera: Fine, we forged a document saying that you both were planning to get married soon. I told him it was not really good to do that but he told me it was just a forged paper and anyways you both would marry in future so we are not really lying to people. He wanted the blackmail to be impactful, he wanted to hire some rowdy looking people and all, but I stopped him ...

Me: Meera, you guys are crazy 

Meera: We just wanted to be through and he really loves you. He sees a future in you, so he does not want you to suffer. He knows you have enough battles with yourself, he does not want you to be struck with fighting with them 

I sat down on the couch and ran my hands on my face 

Me: I know he does love me, but he was mean to me too

Meera: You were mean to him too, so its a tie. Now, speak to him, sort it out okay ?

Me: Fine, Arjun's chamchi 

Meera: I kind off like him more, you have a superhero in your life

I rolled my eyes and started getting ready to pacify my boyfriend
