“Bye, babe.” Drake said, hugging and kissing me, then closed the door.
“Aw. I want a relationship like yours.” Michaela groaned, as we left Drake's driveway and started towards the convenient store up the street from Allie's house.
“I thought you did, with Ronnie?” I asked, glancing at her.
“Eh. You know Ronnie. He's a freaking jerk, and doesn't pay attention to me at all unless we're alone. Which is never.”
“What!? You said that he was a total sweetheart in your email.”
“I was just trying to make myself feel better. He's a jerk.” Michaela rolled her eyes.
“Give me your phone.” I said, holding out my hand.
“Why?” Michaela asked hesitantly, placing her phone in my palm.
I scrolled through her contacts until I got to one labeled 'Ronnie<3'. I hit CALL.
“Hello?” I heard Ronnie's groggy voice. I forgot about the time difference; whoops.
“Hey, Ronnie. It's Ellison.” I said, without hesitation.
“Ellison? Oh, you're that girl that got sent to America after Jacob's party, right?”
“Yeah. Moving on. You're dating Michaela, correct?”
“Michaela? Oh, yeah.”
“Hm. Okay then. Well not anymore. She's breaking up with you because you never pay attention to her, and you're a complete jerk. Have a good life.” I smiled, feeling accomplished, then hung up.
“What that heck, Tailee. Why'd you do that?” Michaela snatched the phone from me, staring at the now blank screen.
“Trust me, you can do so much better.” I smiled at her, and after a while she smiled back.
