“Hey, Tailee.” The very-hot Drew said, sliding into the desk next to me. Yeah, he was hot, but I knew that Drake was better.
“Hey.” I quickly smiled at him, then stared at the front of the classroom again.
“What's the ring for? Purity ring? Promise ring?” He asked, grazing his fingers over the diamonds.
“Engagement ring, actually.” I said, smiling down at it and remembering the day Drake proposed.
“Engagement? You're engaged? Aren't you only 17?” Drew looked bewildered.
“Yeah, but it's a promise to my boyfriend. We're planning for the wedding to be a few weeks after graduation.”
“Who's the lucky guy?” Drew winked at me.
“Drake Lexington. He graduated in May.”
“Oh, so you like older guys?”
“He's only a year older than me. Actually, if you want to get technical, only 11 months. He was born in April, and I was born in March the next year.”
“So you're not available? Like, not ever a sliver of hope for us to date?”
“Sorry, Drew, but no. What about Emily?” I pointed over to where Emily was sneaking glances at Drew and I. When Drew looked over, Emily blushed and quickly turned around. “She's single, and she really likes you.”
“Nah. I don't like redheads.” Drew sighed and scooted his chair back over to his friend, Zac.
