Drake's POV
I'm all alone dito sa bahay. Wala si Mom, and no maids. Paakyat na sana ako sa kuwarto ng may nagdoor bells. Sino naman ang magdo-doorbell na gabi na.
I look at the CCTV and si Keith.
Lumabas ako and she smiling at me. Binuksan ko ang gate kaya pumasok siya.
"Why are you here? Gabi na." Sabi ko.
"May popcorn and drinks akong dala. Movie marathon?" Tanong niya sa akin. Well, dahil hindi pa naman ako inaantok at mag isa lang ako dito, why not.
"Dito kana din mag sleepover." Sabi ko and nanlaki ang mga mata niya.
"Tinatamad akong magmaneho and gabi na, wag kana din mag taxi."
"So, dito ako matutulog?"
"Yeah."
Pumasok na kami sa loob. Nagluto kami ng popcorn and nagset up dito sa sala. Kumuha ako ng unan and kumot. Umupo na kaming dalawa and she play Beauty and the Beast.
I looked at her and she smile. Tinitignan namin ulit itong movie na ito. Tahimik lang kami pareho hanggang sa natapos na ang movie.
"Drake, I have something to say."
"Ako muna."
Tumango siya. "Nagiging okay na kami ni Mommy ko." Masayang sabi ko and she smiled.
"Talaga? Mabuti naman. Look, Drake about us."
Umiling naman ako. "It's okay Keith. It's not unfair if I'm the one that only wants to be us." Sabi ko sa kanya.
"Here." Sabay may inabot siya sa akin na white envelope. I take a look at it. Kumunot ang noo ko at tinignan siya.
She smiled "Mag iintership ako sa Italy." masayang sabi niya.
Tumingin ako sa letter sabay tango. "Yeah, it says here." sabi ko. Yumakap siya sa akin saglit then ngumiti.
"Alam mo ba na kinakabahan talaga ako dahil baka hindi ako ma accept but I'm in. Yes!" masayang sabi niya.
"Congrats" masaya ako but may halong lungkog. Napayuko ako ng bahagya. "So, you're leaving?" tanong ko. Nawala ang ngiti niya at tinignan ako ulit.
Tumango siya ng dahan dahan "Yeah, I'm leaving on Saturday." sabi niya. Thursday ngayon and sa saturday na ang alis niya. Agad?
"Did you plan this?" takang tanong ko. Tumango namsn siya.
"Yeah, since Papa died and I'm lonely here kaya--"
"But you're lonely anymore Keith. I'm here." tumango naman siya at ngumiti sa akin sabay hawak sa kamay ko.
"And thankful ako dahil andiyaan ka but Drake, Italy iyon and I'm accepted. Akala ko hindi ako matatanggap but this is it. Isa ako sa nabigyan ng opportunity na makapag internship abroad. " masayang sabi niya.
"Opportunity indeed." Sabi ko. Bumuntong hininga siya.
"I hope you support me on this."
Tumango ako. "Sure." Sabi ko sabay kain ng popcorn.
"Are you gonna miss me?" Tanong niya pero hindi ako sumagot.
"Drake."
I looked at her. "Babalik ka naman agad eh. Mabilis lang ang panahon." Sabi ko but umiling siya kaya kumunot ang noo ko.
"Drake, I'm going to Italy. I will be gone for a year then I won't be back yet because I'm thinking of studying my masters there too. Intership took a year. Studying a master's degree took two to three years, in total, i think. So, I'll be gone for almost four years." sabi niya. Tumango-tango naman ako hababg kumakain ng popcorn.
"Drake, are you listening? Importante ito."
"I'm listening." Sabi ko. Bumuntong hininga na naman siya at yumuko.
"This is also what I considering not saying yes to you 'coz, I'm leaving."
Kumunot ang noo ko. "Why? Keith, ito ba. Ito ba ang reason why you watch that movie with me, again. 'Coz, as I've remember, after we watch that moview you said about the beast how he choose to let go of her Belle and--"
"Drake."
"Is that it Keith?" Tanong ko. She nodded. "So, ayaw mo mag yes sa akin kasi alam mo na aalis ka and maiiwan ako. Now, what do you want me to do?"
"Drake."
"I understand that you are not ready but I'm willing to wait Keith. And about that intership you've been accpeted at, I support you on that."
Yumuko siya sabay iling. "No Drake, sa four years na iyon. You will meet someone and we don't know. Siya na pala ang papakasalan mo. I won't allow you to wait for me for those long years."
Ngumiti naman ako sarcastically. "You think hindi ko kayang maghintay saiyo?" tanong ko sa kanya sabay tayo. Tumayo rin siya.
"Drake. I'll be far apart from six thousand..something.. miles from you Drake." sabi niya.
"Anong gusto mo Keith?" Tanong ko. Tumulo ang luha niya kaya tumalikod ako at bumuntong hininga.
"I don't care if aalis ka. It's for your own good and hindi kita pipigilan sa mga gusto mo, susuportahan pa kita but please. Don't let me be the beast that needs to let go of her Belle." Sabi ko.
Bumuntong hininga siya. "Drake, beast let go of her Belle for her to make the things she loves and be free from the outside world." sabi niya. Tumingin ako sa kanya.
"You are free Keith. You can do anything you love. Why am I need to let you go?"
Nagkibitbalikat siya. " 'Coz if you stil hold into me. Drake, ayaw ko maging unfair."
"Unfair of what?"
"Unfair na ikaw ang nakakapit sa akin. Just like Beast, you want me to be at your side."
"Yeah, because I'm happy when I'm with you." Sabi ko and umiling siya.
"And now that I'm leaving? How can you be happy?"
"Keith--"
"Drake, we have our own path and career to focus. Why don't we just focus on that and--"
"Keith, we still have our friendship." Sabi ko and tumango siya.
"I will always cherish that Drake. What am I saying is. Let's just focus what we should focus to. Tsaka, I also need to focus and don't want to get distracted." Sabi niya and napaupo ako.
"Kailan ako naging distraction?"
Umiling siya and umupo sa tabi ko. "No, Drake. What I mean is, gusto ko nasa intership and pag aaral lang ako nakafocus, no one else. Wag mo naman masamain ang sinabi ko."
Tumahimik lang ako habang pinaprocess pa ang mga sinabi niya. She hold my hand.
"Please, ayaw ko umalis na hindi tayo maayos." Sabi niya. I looked at her. "See me off, okay?" Sabi niya. Gusto niya pa ako na makita siyang umalis.
"Should I?" Tanong ko. Yumuko naman siya.
"I have my hopes." Mahinang sabi niya.
