Fuli pov

Patrol is slow, hot, and boring. Nothing happens, so we call it early.
Me and Shujaa walked around the pridelands for a while talking.
The first thing I ask is, "Where have you been?" He says, "We've been wandering through the backlands midlands and even further out. It was tough on us all." I say, "At least you made it." He says, "Yeah, I guess." He looks and sounds sad, so I put a paw on his shoulder and say, "I'm sorry." He says, "It's okay." He smiles and asks, "What's with you and Kion? You two seem close." I say, 'We're friends, might as well be siblings we grew up together and are super close." He says, "Friends, you sure?" I say, "Yes." He smiles, and we continue to talk.

*Kion pov*

After patrol, me and Kiara walk around and talk for a bit. Eventually, she says, "You like Fuli, don't you?" I say, 'What no?" She looks at me skeptically and says, "You sure, I've never seen you back somebody up like that." I say, "What, I just wanted her to have somewhere to sleep." Kiara says, "Kai, it's obvious you two are inseparable. Sometimes, you refuse to sleep in priderock to be with her, and you spend your off days with her." I blush and look at my paws, so Kiara says, "I knew it." I say, "Stop Kiara... I guess a little." She smiles and says, "Told you." I laugh and say, "I can't be with her, though." She says, 'Why not?" I say, "Dad would never allow it." She says, "Kai breaks the rules every once in a while." I say, "Kiara, we aren't even the same species. I bet she doesn't like me even." She says, "There's only one way to find out. Ask her today."

*Fuli pov*

Shujaa went to rest, so I lay on a rock at the guard watering hole. After a little bit, I fell asleep.

*Time skip 30 minutes*

I'm woken up by Kion poking at my side, so I sit up yawn and stretch without even looking at him. When I do, he looks great. He did his mane up and has a flower. I say, "What's up, Kion?" He says, "I got you this, and I wanted to talk alone for a minute." I say, "Thank you, it's beautiful." He says, "It's a fire lily. It's strong, fierce, and beautiful. Like you." He smiles, and I say, "Did you call me beautiful?" I blush as he says, "Yeah, you're the prettiest and fiercest and kindest girl I've ever met, and I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date tonight." I nuzzle him, and I can hear him purr so I know he likes it, and I say, "I would love to." He says, "Just before sunset, can you meet me at Hakuna Matata Falls." I say, "That works."
He smiles widely and says, "Well, I guess I'll see you then, but can we keep this secret got now?" I say, "Yeah, of course." He nods, and I smile at him as he walks away.
