I am doing something that I haven't done in ages. Throw a party. And before you jump off the roof thinking is those lit, wild parties were plenty people are invited, music popping hot and alcohol flowing like fountain, mine is a little low key. Just a get together amongst my friends in my apartment. Seeing that you can count my friends in two fingers, and if you include Grey that will make it three I wouldn't call what I am throwing a party.
Let's go with a small gathering.
I did my best to get my little two bedroom apartment presentable and fit for company. Filled my fridge with surplus of alcohol. Cooked through delivery service and by six I was ready to receive my guest.
The first to arrive was Brock and my tall, very tanned handsome bartender mate slash friend didn't come alone.
He came bearing wine and a tall blonde that looked like she works for the escort service.
"My girlfriend, Sasha," Brock introduced with a loving look in the blonde's direction.
I didn't know you had a girlfriend was at the tip of my lips but my brain acted in time to curb my lips before I could blurt the words out.
At work Brock is very tight lipped about his personal life, unlike Bradley that sings about his to anyone that wishes to listen. I know as much about Bradley's life as I know very little about Brock's.
"Hi," I greeted the blonde.
"Thanks for letting Brock bring me," Sasha smiled politely at me.
"The more the merrier"
Sasha just smiled.
I moved aside to let her and Brock go in.
I lead them to the living room where they took a seat on the couch while I walked into the kitchen to get them something to drink
I had a soft cool music playing from my stereo, keeping the mood mellow but not to boring.
Another knock sounded on the door just as I was walking out of the kitchen with drinks for Brock and his girlfriend.
I went to the door again and opened it. Grey stood on the other side. We have gotten closer over the past few weeks. Nothing romantic, but as friends. Even though Grey would have liked for more to happen between us, I didn't want to start anything with him with Billy in the picture.
I offered him my friendship without really telling him that there was someone else involved. He graciously accepted it, but sometimes I can't help the feeling that he is bidding his time when things will progress to something deeper.
Hope I don't disappointment.
"Hiya!" I smiled at him.
"Hi," he responded as we air kissed.
"I know how much you love these," he presented me with a bottle of Merlot wine, my favourite.
When I looked down at the bottle I realised it wasn't the cheap brand.
The wine in my hand cost five hundred dollars.
"Wow!" I looked up at him surprise that he will spend such an amount on a bottle for me.
He shrugged his slender shoulders, a gentle smile softening his features as he stared at me with his feelings reflected in his eyes.
I pretended not to see it and thanked him graciously, before letting him in. He didn't need me to show him the way because he had been over to my house a couple of times for dinner.
It all started one night when I was off my shift and decided to get a take out. I went downstairs to get the delivery and we jammed each other on the way. He also had his dinner in hand. He suggested for us to have it together, and I didn't say no. From that night it became a sort of tradition to share meals whenever I am free and he is free.
