Shutting the door on your parents will be a very bad thing to do, but I was nearly tempted to do so immediately I opened the door and saw them on the other side. I blinked back my shock to greet them. "Hiiiii," I sounded like someone singing the soprano in choir.

My mother looked at me like I am some alien dropped from heaven in front of her. "Who are you?" Her already wrinkled face wrinkled further as she stared at me like a specimen under a microscope.

Isn't that a one million dollar question. Who am I? My dad was also staring curiously at me, and their stare was unnerving at worst and probing at best.

I have never been lost for words as I was at that moment, and could only gape at my parents like a fish out of water.

"Hello, Mum and Dad," Billy came to my rescue taking the elderly couples attention from me.

The sight of a familiar face brought a smile to my mother's face. "Billy!" she walked past me like I wasn't standing there, her husband hot on her heels. "You didn't tell me you were coming?" I heard Billy ask, but my mother walked right over the question with another question. "Where are my grandkids?"

Fuck. I closed the door and made my way towards the living room wondering how I am going to deal with my parents. I never factored in their visit. Didn't know that they still visited. I thought with my death that they will keep their distance, but from the look of things in the living room it looks like they closer after my death.

I escaped to the room to avoid interacting with them. I don't think I am up to it. Billy will have to do this alone.

I threw myself face down on the bed. I wonder how my parents are going to react when they find out who I am. The door opened few minutes later and Billy walked in.

"Hey, are you alright?"

"Yeah, just a bit of headache," I grabbed my head for effect. A twinkle appeared in Billy's eyes telling me he wasn't buying my excuse. "And when did this headache start?" A playful smile danced over his lips.

"For a while now," I scrunched up my face, hell bent on playing out my act.

"So it wouldn't be that you are hiding from a certain elderly couple who just paid us a surprised visit?" His smile grew wider telling me he was on to me.

"No," I denied earnestly, but a smile broke through. "You are so cute," Billy moved to cover my body with his and kissed me. "Who are they?" I asked when we pulled apart.

"Isla's parents," he kissed me again.

"Do they know who I am?" There was apprehension in my voice.

"You mean that you are my wife?" He arched a brow at me. I nodded strongly. He hesitated, intentionally worsening my fears. "You told them and they didn't react well," I looked as if their disapproval will be the end of the world, and Billy being a cruel mischievous bastard played out the tension until I was ready to burst.

"I told them..."

"And?" I cut in impatiently.

"And they liked you," he grinned at me.

"What!" I was shocked. I didn't think my parents would like anyone married to Billy because of their daughter. I wonder if they knew about Billy's affairs. Obviously not if they had gotten close.

"The kids sang your praises, and they were too amazed that Sophie was talking to be mad about our marriage. They actually applauded when I told them that Kate and I are no longer together."

"They didn't like her?"

"That is an understatement. They hated her guts, and me marrying her shortly after Isla's death didn't help matters."
