The young woman glared at constant explosions, feeling the vibrations that felt like earthquakes under her feet, all while she ran towards the source of the destruction. She readied her weapon, tightening her grip over her axe, before continuing to race towards the calamity, no longer afraid, tired of being afraid.
Today it all ended.
She would kill the monster that had ruined her life, killed her father, and only destroyed more and more every month. The monster that had snuck into her life, pretending to be all cute and innocent, when in reality, was nothing more than a beast.
She spat at the thought of his name.
"This ends now..." Chi-Chi muttered. "Goku..."
Yes, it appears that one small change spelled a very, very different outcome in this universe's future. While in the timelines you know, young Goku was sent to Earth and would land on Mount Paozu, where he would be adopted and raised by Gohan, as the young child's grandpa.
However, in this universe, Goku's space pod would instead crash land on Fire Mountain, and would instead be found by Gyūmaō: The Ox-King. While the Emperor already had his hands full raising his daughter, Chi-Chi, especially after his wife had passed, he decided to take in the young child. He would still, however, attempt to contact his old friend, Gohan, asking for advice; whom suggested teaching the boy discipline through martial arts, and even suggesting a name for the boy: Goku.
Despite a short few years of a relatively happy life, disaster would strike, on the night of the Full Moon...
Chi-Chi glared at the massive monkey-like creature, screaming and growling at the top of its lungs, shooting energy from its mouth and demolishing whatever was left of the poor village it had already laid waste to. Finally caught up to it, Chi-Chi shouted, before throwing her large axe like a boomerang, the blade slicing the Great Ape's cheek, then curving backwards and landing in Chi-Chi's hand.
"I'm right here, Goku!" she goaded the Saiyan, hoping to lure the beast away from the village, or at least, what was left of it.
Roaring in pain from the attack, the Great Ape raced straight for Chi-Chi, exactly as she expected, as she bolted away from the primate, running as fast as she could. She wasn't nearly as fast as him, but it was less about getting away from him, and more so, getting him away from the remaining survivors.
Still, despite that, the whole ordeal brought back rotten memories. Memories of being a powerless little girl, running off to some kind of shelter, anything.
She couldn't believe what she had seen. The same young boy she had been so friendly with, so kind with, even finding him kind of cute, all that gone in an instant. In a single night he had thrown all of that away, showing his true colors, transforming into a monster and destroying her home... even killing her father.
And to make matters worse, the next day? He acted like an idiot. Like he had no idea what he had done.
That day she swore she'd kill him.
This time, though, things were different. This time she wasn't running away from him. He wasn't hunting her down. She was hunting him.
With a roar, the Great Ape fired a blast from his mouth, scarring the land and sending rocks flying; something that worked nicely in Chi-Chi's favor. Running towards where the debris landed, Chi-Chi lifted one of the larger rocks above her head, throwing it right back at the ape's head.
As it covered its eyes in defense, Chi-Chi leapt into the air, slicing at both its legs with her axe, only to be swatted back down with its hand. Picking herself back up, she flipped, this time running and using her axe like a vault to throw herself higher into the air, before stabbing it into the Great Ape's shoulder, with the monkey growling in pain, firing a beam of energy into the air.
