What if Goku Black Fused With Goku?

With a massive explosion, green smoke filled the arena, while shards of the clay pot scattered as huge shrapnel. Trunks quickly stood in the way, guarding Mai and his mother behind him, but through the smoke a figure revealed himself.

Trunks cursed himself, as Zamasu took to the skies. While he seemed terrified out of his wits and was panting hard, it didn't change the brutal reality. The Evil Containment Wave, their one chance of winning... had failed.

Swallowing hard, he felt Mai's hand come to his for comfort, which he gave a slight squeeze in support.

Suddenly, he felt his heart sink as Goku Black appeared next to Zamasu, in his Super Saiyan Rosé form.

"Now he's here?" he asked, almost not wanting to believe it.

Fortunately, better news would come in the form of Shin, and the Supreme Kai of Universe 10: Gowasu appearing, as well as Goku and Vegeta appearing by way of Instant Transmission, as well.

"You're okay!" Trunks shouted in relief.

Vegeta would speak up, his mind on the situation as a whole. "Bulma, is anyone hurt?"

"What?" was her first response, before confirming. "No..."

"Good, we'll take it from here..."

As Trunks watched in fear and panic, Goku Black turned to his counterpart, with a scoff. Did he somehow know what had happened?

"How'd you disgrace yourself against those mortals?" Black asked the Kai. "We were barely separated. What went wrong?"

"It... It seems many of our assumptions about mortals were badly mistaken." Zamasu replied, still trying to catch his breath. "They are much more than insignificant worms. If we're not careful, our dream of utopia is going to be ruined before it's even begun!"

Black grunted in annoyance, not pleased with the answer.

"So that's what it is. It's treason, then."

Looking down at the rest of them, Black shook his head in frustration, before turning back to Zamasu.

"I believe it is time, then. No point in holding anything back."

Zamasu perked up.

"Are you sure? You seemed hesitant at first."

Black shook his head. "What's done will be done. Liberties must be taken in the pursuit of divine justice."

With that, Zamasu and Goku Black returned to face Goku and Vegeta.

"Now, then... shall we, mortals?" Zamasu taunted.

"If you're referring to 'shall we get on to your defeat'..?" Vegeta taunted back. "By all means..."

Zamasu and Black both smirked, charging their auras, while Goku and Vegeta did the same, and just like that, the battle continued.

You may have noticed the Divergence early, here. Unlike in the timeline you know, Black and Zamasu chose not to fuse using their Potara earrings. This is because, in this timeline, they had developed a far different plan.

With that, Goku and Vegeta raced for both of them, this time neither specifying one or the other, and instead fighting side-by-side. Without warning, Goku socked Black in the face, with Vegeta throwing a kick at Zamasu, before both Saiyans flew back-to-back, literally watching the other's back. Goku raced for Black, throwing a massive punch at his stomach, before throwing him towards Vegeta's awaiting elbow, directly to his face.

Without even needing to look, Vegeta dodged Zamasu's ki blade, catching him by the forearm, before throwing him over his shoulder and towards the ground. Looking down at him, both he and Goku began to fire dozens of ki blasts to keep him down.
