louis says he's never been to disneyland, and olivia decides to change that
fluff
a/n: hope you guys had a great christmas!!
—everyone knows disneyland is the happiest place on earth. especially olivia, who's been countless times in the past and still can't quite get enough of the magic. somehow it has the power to make her feel like a kid all over again, which is something she's been wanting to feel again for a while.
as for louis? he'd been missing out the whole time. and she's about to find out.
they're at a diner for breakfast and talking about a vacation spot for their days off. the english countryside, the caribbean, and paris. all of the options sound good, but they know their off days were limited and spending a week in another country would definitely not be enough time to take everything in. so they decide to think of places within the states.
then of course, la, olivia's second home, quickly comes to her mind. granted, it also reminds her of her favorite theme park. she brings up disneyland as an option excitedly.
"t's the most magical place on earth, how could you not love it?" she asks over a bite of her french toast. "what's your favorite ride?"
"i couldn't tell you that," louis replies, taking a sip of his strawberry milkshake. "i've never been."
"oh, sorry, i just assumed." despite her knowing that he's been living in the uk his whole life and rarely coming to the states growing up, the surprise still hits her anyway. "wait a second, really?"
"really."
"louis, you haven't lived yet."
"i mean, i've been to disney world once when i was a kid, so that has to count, right?"
"but how much do you remember?"
he shakes his head. "not much. just the huge castle and me taking a picture with minnie mouse."
"all the more reason why you should go. disneyland just takes you back to your childhood, with the nostalgia and..." she rants, before it hits her. "you know what, i don't need to tell you—you'll see what i'm talking about."
there's silence before a smile slowly spreads across louis' face. "does this mean...?"
she nods. "we're going to disneyland!"
*
that afternoon they're able to quickly pack their bags and olivia gets last minute tickets to a flight in the evening from nyc to la. they get to the airport on time and board the plane, olivia telling louis about how much fun they'll have. he's already convinced just by her contagious excitement.
it's already dark outside upon arriving at lax, and they take an uber to olivia's la apartment. the jet lag tires them out too much for them to do anything so they get ready for sleep, despite it only being around 8:30pm.
"you don't know how excited i am for tomorrow," olivia sighs, falling back onto the bed. louis turns off the lights and climbs in on the other side.
"or do i? you've been thrilled by the thought the whole day," he chuckles, rolling over to face her. "we haven't even seen it in person yet."
"okay, so maybe you do know. but i'm hoping i made you look forward to it?"
"and that would be right. i've never looked forward to meeting mickey and minnie in person more than i am now. i mean, again."
olivia laughs before yawning and running her hands over her face. "oh god, what time is it in new york?
"like, 11pm," he says, noticing her tired eyes in the moonlight as his vision adjusts and the way her voice slows. "let's go to sleep—i think we've both worn ourselves out today."
"yeah, we should." she closes her eyes and lays on her side. "night, babe."
he smiles, kissing her forehead as he pulls the covers over her body and wraps an arm around her. "night, liv."
