louis attends olivia's fourth new york city show before her break
-
there's almost ten minutes before the show really starts, and yet the chants of the crowd in the arena are so loud they can be heard all the way backstage. things aren't much calmer there since crew members are running around all over the place, trying to make sure everything's ready.
olivia by one direction is playing through the speakers. louis looks up at the tv and watches a wide shot of the audience, who are all singing along like they know the song by heart. he smiles to himself and hums to the song as well.
he's on his phone now, waiting for olivia to come back to meet him once she's done warming up for the show. currently, it's the last night of the GUTS tour before olivia's three week break. it's a special show, especially since it's in nyc, which they both consider one of their favorite places to be.
just as the song comes to an end, olivia comes jogging around a corner while holding two glasses—one with water and the other with beer. she's wearing a sparkly silver top with a matching skirt, the same outfit she wears to start every show.
"got you a drink, lou." she smiles as she hands him the beer.
"i thought we were saving this for later, liv," he says.
"it's only a little, so it's not that bad. besides, you told me you wanted something to drink, right?"
"yeah, but i still want to be able to listen to your songs clearly," louis jokes. he gets up from the couch and wraps his arms around her waist from behind.
"i can't believe we're going to europe in a few weeks," olivia sighs, resting her head against his chest. "i'm so excited to see your family in london again."
"i'm glad. they're buzzing to see you again," he laughs. then his eyes widen in realization. "oh, of course. how could i forget about paris? that'll be lovely."
"i know!" she exclaims. "the amount of romance novels set in france that i read are unhealthy. god, i'm such a romantic."
louis smiles, saying nothing as he spaces out while staring at her. she catches on quickly, instinctively reaching up to fix some strands of hair falling over her face.
"what? do i have something on my face?" she asks.
louis snaps out of it, shaking his head. "no, no. you just look beautiful, babe." he tilts his head to look at her just as she chuckles and looks down as her face turns a slight shade of pink. he'd been telling her the same thing every show he attended, and he still felt like he couldn't say it enough. "i'm serious."
"i know, i'm just flattered every time you tell me," olivia answers. "how did i end up with a guy like you?"
"how did i end up with a girl like you?"
she stands on her toes to meet his height as she kisses him. the next thing they know, her lipstick's leaving stains on his neck until a voice interrupts them.
"are you two lovebirds done yet?" conan asks from behind. he's just walked into the room with madi, iris, tate, and the kid laroi—her close friends who are all there to support her.
"don't be rude, conan," olivia says playfully as she pulls away. "give us a minute."
"i would, trust me, but you have, like, five before you go on stage," conan laughs. "your manager just said."
"shit, i do?" olivia asks. she turns to louis, who's picking up his beverage.
"i'll go over to the floor," he tells her, taking a sip. "i wouldn't want to miss your show, would i?"
