mornings in new york city are kind of peaceful. well, compared to the commotion in the afternoon, at least. but for now it's almost calm as the warm, early breeze filters in through the window and the soft sound of birds can be heard from outside.

when olivia wakes up at around 9am, she's on the couch in her living room, the sun shining brightly in through her windows. the apartment is mostly quiet, and the first thing she notices is louis, who's laying next to her, stirring. his eyes flutter open just in time for him to see her admiring him.

"morning," he murmurs, his voice scratchy and the sound of his accent lulling.

"morning," she whispers back, smiling at him. once they're both awake she gets closer and kisses his forehead, laughing softly against him.

olivia runs her hand through her messy hair, glancing around. "god, i can't believe we fell asleep out here."

"i can't believe you're so beautiful in the morning," louis says as a response, chuckling. he pulls her in and kisses her slow, just like last night.

they make out for a while like that, slow and lazy on her living room couch. They're both completely at ease in each other's company, and the sunlight streaming in from outside makes for a dreamy setting.

that's pretty much the way they spend most of their morning, just basking in the sunlight and the sounds of new york coming about below. louis teases her some more about not wanting to leave her apartment and letting others see them, and olivia jokes that she's fine sharing her love life with the public as long as she can have him to herself too.

but of course, they do have to get out at some point though, so they both end up in olivia's bedroom later to get dressed again. she goes with a tank top and miniskirt with her long hair down, deciding to put a bit more effort into her outfit now that it's later in the day. meanwhile, louis goes for a sex pistols shirt and jeans with converse to go with it all.

eventually they make it out of her apartment building again, holding hands as they explore the city and look for things to do. it shouldn't be that hard since it is nyc.

for a late breakfast, the two of them take a walk all the way down to the nearby bakery that louis likes. luckily, there's no paparazzi, at least not in plain sight. on the walk there he kisses her neck a few times, making her laugh and playfully swat him out of the way, telling him to behave since they're in public. they've done worse, but it's whatever.

inside, louis orders a double espresso coffee with his muffin and bagel, and olivia gets an iced matcha latte with her pastries. she leans her head against his shoulder as the food arrives and she takes a few bites of her blueberry muffin. of course she can't resist to offer him a bite as well, watching his face light up and laughing when he teases her about trying to steal all her muffins.

they sit across from each other in a booth by the window, her hand still wrapped up in his under the table. he tells her how much of a regular he is there when he's in new york, but also teases her about the fact that he's taking her to a hole-in-the-wall place instead of a place she's used to like ladurée. she just laughs and jokingly tells him not to make her expose him on her social media about this.

when they go outside again they continue walking aimlessly, olivia taking photos of random things in the streets as they go. at one point he steals her phone to take some photos of her in return, laughing when she mockingly scolds him for taking photos of her. the next thing she knows she's grabbing his face and kissing him in the middle of the street. once they pull away louis boasts his photographer skills and goes to take another of her by a building before they continue on.
