Liam was on the verge of tears when he saw Henry's smile. He genuinely thought that Henry would never forgive him, let alone this fast! Liam threw his arms around Henry, pulling him into a tight hug.
Henry's pupils dilated, the way yours do when you see someone you like. He returned the hug. It was awkward considering the anatomical difference from now and when he was still mostly human, but they managed.
It felt like years passed before they broke the embrace, although it was only a few minutes. Henry made a chirping sound that sounded like laughing.
Liam didn't even realize at first how much he missed Henry. Getting used to him not being there anymore made him forget why he was still there for him in the first place. He felt guilty all over again.
But he decided to ignore the guilt this time, choosing to cherish this moment of joy him and Henry were sharing this very moment in time.
