Liam had a relatively good home life compared to his friends. Even if his parents embarrassed him sometimes. They actually cared for him, unlike Drew and Henry's parents.
It wasn't always like that though. Before his parents got divorced, he would often come to school crying.
That changed though.
Liam was now doing better than back then, he didn't worry about his safety anymore. He slowly got better. He healed. Something he previously thought would be impossible.
Henry came over often, often multiple times in a row. Liam's parents thought it was weird, but chalked it up to him and Liam being close friends.
He thought nothing of it, only being excited to hang out with his best friend.
The visits became routine, and so was Henry's behavior. The discomfort around his dad slowly faded into the background, even as Liam's stepdad pointed it out in private.
It was normal, it was familiar.
But it shouldn't have been.
