"Mom, I'm going to the woods again," Liam called out as he began to leave the house.

"Again? Liam, it's been weeks since anybody has last seen Henry. You won't find him, plus it's snowing now."

Liam knew she was wrong however. But he wouldn't ever tell her, or anyone for that matter. Nobody would believe him, and if they did, nobody would believe that the woods actually changed Henry that much.

Liam was pretty excited for today in particular. Christmas was always an exciting day, but this one was most certainly different.

Today was the first Christmas where Liam was celebrating with this Henry. This brand new version of him who was essentially one with the forest! Liam was pretty freaking excited, considering the fact that this time was him celebrating with Henry instead of the other way around.

Henry usually either came to his house or stayed home. Liam had never fully seen Henry's home even with how close they were. Liam started getting invited less and less often to Henry's house until he fully stopped getting invited around freshman year.

Henry met Liam at the entrance to the forest and led him to the shed.

Liam asked, "How has it been? Like, how have you been doing since you came here?"

"(Chittering) good. Getting used to the anatomical changes was (chittering) hard though."

Liam resisted the urge to tease Henry, considering the fact that Henry was essentially speaking a whole other language that Liam could barely understand.

The shed was the same as last time, sparsely furnished with the only thing having changed being that there were now makeshift curtains covering the windows.

Liam took out a small wrapped box from inside his jacket.

Henry tilted his head in confusion that way a dog does as he took it.

Henry opened it, revealing a photograph.

"I remember when we took this"

Liam laughed a bit to himself, "Remember when you ran into a lamp post right after we took this?"

Henry smiled, "You laughed like an asshole before even trying to help me up."

The two laughed at the memory for a while, cherishing the joy they brought each other.

A squeaking noise interrupted the laughter. Henry's ears perked up at the sound

He opened the door, cold air rushing in. Liam shivered a bit, thankful he brought his jacket.

Henry sat in front of the open door, holding something that Liam couldn't see and making some squeaking noises. Liam walked over to Henry to try and get a look at what he was holding.

It was the green hare.
