Once Liam had pushed through the urge to go back home, he started walking past the lake. He took out some red chalk to mark the path he goes on, his step dad essentially forced him to take it since you could easily get lost in the forest.
Once he had started getting deeper into the forest, Liam started getting scared. Normal forest noises seemed distorted and ominous. Birdsong was haunting, the wind sounded like voices.
It looked scary as well. There was fog that made it somewhat hard to see. Light was unable to pierce the canopy, making it hard to see even without the fog.
"Henry?" Liam called out. He hoped that he would find Henry sooner rather than later, or at least something that hints that Henry at least was there. It was dark and the flashlight he brought only reflected off of the fog.
CRACK!
Liam turned to the direction the noise came from. "Who's there?" He shakily called out, looking around with his flashlight for the source of the sound.
More sounds of cracking.
Liam took out his phone to try and capture the creature or whatever the thing that was making the sounds was. Then he saw it
Once he took the picture, the thing ran. Liam couldn't believe his eyes. It most certainly looked like a deer, but it was on its hind legs. Liam decided that he should head back home and continue the search tomorrow.
But he couldn't get that sighting out of his head.
