"Here, it's not just about the bottom line," Max said, his voice carrying a sincerity that reached his eyes and softened his firm jaw. A playful smirk played on his lips as he added, "Well, everyone except Luke, perhaps.

He's a bit of an ice king, but in his own way, he's completely dedicated." His gaze swept around the luxurious expanse, pride evident in his stance. "All this," he gestured grandly, "it's not just for show. It's the heart and soul of everyone who's put their blood, sweat, and dreams into this place. It's not just a company; it's a family, our unique little universe."

With dramatic flair, Max swung open the double doors, revealing an office that was an intersection of elegance and efficiency. Sunlight poured in from the vast windows, casting the city in a golden hue. I could hear the soft murmurs of traffic, a comforting reminder of life outside this high-rise sanctuary.

My eyes wide, I barely managed to breathe out, "It's beautiful."

Max grinned, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "Welcome to your new office," he said, clearly enjoying my reaction.

The room was modern and efficiently designed, with one wall made entirely of glass, offering an uninterrupted view of the city's skyline.

I could already envision my desk placed strategically to soak in that view, adorned with personal touches. By the window, a spot seemed tailor-made for my little green friend - a plant gifted to me years ago.

But before I could fully map out my new territory, Max's voice, light with anticipation, pulled me back. "Ready for the pièce de résistance? Let's meet the legend - Luke."

The name seemed to reverberate through the room. There was a sudden shift, a mix of respect and apprehension in the eyes of those around. A colleague, lips barely moving, warned, "Steel yourself. Luke's... intense."

Max leaned in, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial hush. "Just between us, Luke is all about sharp edges and chilly demeanor. But he's the same guy who once found himself with sand in... well, let's just say some rather uncomfortable spots after a sandbox mishap."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Seriously? You guys go back to sandbox days?"

A nostalgic chuckle escaped Max. "You wouldn't believe the stories. The things he pulled off in high school... But for now, just keep in mind, under all that frost, there's a heart in Luke. It's just a matter of having the right map to navigate to it."
