I was walking now. I had given up on running about an hour ago. It was now 8:00 a.m and HOT.
I was about halfway around the lake. In about another hour and a half, I should make it to the houses on the other side of it. That is, if I were to walk nonstop. That's not going to happen though.
I had put on my bathing suit, hiding my backpack behind some bushes. I crept into the lake, and immediately sighed with relief. The water was cool and refreshing.
I suddenly plunged deeper into the water when I heard a snap of a twig. I had been hearing twigs snapping and bushes rustling from behind me, all day now. Perhaps I was just worried that the boys are following me? Perhaps they really are?
I made sure only my eyes and nose were visible above the water, and swam deeper from the shore of the lake. I mentally patted myself on the back for hiding my backpack before I went into the lake.
When I hear faint whispers, my suspicions about being followed were confirmed.
"I think she's trying to make it around the lake. We just have to keep following the lake to the other side," I heard. I think it was Liam who was speaking.
"I can't believe you would just let her escape like that Zayn!" Harry yelled at Zayn.
"I didn't just LET her runaway! She was sneaky about it!" Zayn tried to defend himself.
"Well of course she was sneaky about it! What was she gonna do? Stand up and just walk right out of the house?!" Harry shot back.
"Shut up you two!" Louis's voice interrupted.
Just then, I could finally make out their bodies. All five of them were walking through the woody part of the lake.
The vegetation was all over, and the trees were high. The boys looked terribly unamused by the fact that they had to walk another hour and a half to get to the other side of the lake.
My eyes followed the boys as the passed right by me, not looking at the lake even once. Once they were long out of sight, I pulled myself out of the lake, only bothering to put my
shorts and backpack back on, before taking off in the opposite direction.
Instead of trying to get to the other side of the lake, I was going to turn back and go to the house again. Once there, I would try to take the boys phones that were hopefully still at the house, escape off in another direction, and then call the cops to come pick me up, once I had gotten farther away from the boys house.
It would be a perfect plan, if it were to be carried out, without any negative interference. It would take an hour and a half to get bak to the house, and three hours for the boys to get across the lake, realize I'm not there, and then walk all the way home again.
What if they were to drive a car? How much time would that reduce?
I shook the thought from my head, and began to break into a run.

It had taken lots of water breaks, and a couple of quick refreshing swims, before finally making it back to the house.
The front door was locked, but a nearby window was left partly open. The screen dividing the space inside and outside of the house, was broken into by me. I clawed it apart, creating a hole that my body could slip through. Once I had that space, I pushed the actual window up a bit more, so I could have more body room.
I pushed my backpack inside first, and then hoisted myself up, and through the window. I had successfully made it inside! I feel like I'm robbing the place. This whole situation made me feel like I was a spy again.
