The blackness that surrounded me wasn't the peaceful haven I thought it would be. I could hear what was happening around me but I was struggling to open my eyes. I felt something drag me away and I could feel the pain as I was moved. It was so painful. My eyes shot open, and I looked around as my eyes were very blurry. All I could see was smoke and the stairway was destroyed with the monster on the ground.
I shifted quickly, wanting the people to let me go, which they did instantly. "Hyun-su." I said, panicking as I looked around, "Hyun-su!"
"He's fine. Jaehyeon has him." I heard a familiar voice, making me turn to look at Jisoo who had her hands on my shoulder. "Come on before it wakes up."
I nodded, slowly getting up, holding onto my side. Jisoo helped me to an empty room, where Jaehyeon laid Hyun-su down. I moved as quickly as I could to get to him, "Hyun-su!" I said, breathing a sigh of relief. I brushed back his hair gently as he looked at me. Even though his eyes were black, I knew he wouldn't hurt me. He would've already, "You're okay. Thank gosh." I felt the tears form in my eyes, "I was so scared!"
"The kids." He said, remembering them, making me gasp. "Where are they?" He asked, looking at Jaehyeon and Jisoo.
However, footsteps approached us and I was pulled away. I looked up at Jisoo who pointed her baseball bat at him. "You're infected, right?" She said, staring down at him, "Your nose is bleeding, you fainted."
"You wanted to save him," Jaehyeon said, looking up at her.
"How do you know he won't turn?"
"He hasn't turned yet." I pointed out, making them look at me, "I've been with him all day and he hasn't attacked me. All he wants to do is protect the kids. Who are probably so scared right now." I said.
"I don't know. But I'm sure crushing his head in can't possibly be the will of God."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes as he mentioned God but at least he was trying to stop Jisoo from killing Hyun-su. I struggled to get up, wincing at the pain in my back. I'm sure I had the biggest bruise there.
Hyun-su grabbed my wrist, "Are you okay? I didn't hurt you right?"
I shook my head, "Nope. You didn't. But that big monster did. Gosh, was it so scary to look at," I said softly, looking between the three of them.
"Help us." Hyun-su said, his eyes moving to look at the two adults, "Help us, please. I made a promise. They need me." He looked at Jaehyeon, "Come on."
I looked at them, "While you guys talk over, I'm going to go and get the kids." I said softly before heading towards the door. I had to ignore the pain as I had moved to the door. I looked down, noticing that my baton wasn't there. "For fuck sake," I said, knowing it was in the stairway.
"What's wrong?" Jisoo asked me.
I turned around to face them all, "My weapon is at the stairway. I have to get it."
