TW: Character Death

I ran ahead of everyone to the building where Chan-Yeong told me to go and kicked the door open so that they could run through. The place was abandoned as everything was so dirty. I didn't know what to expect when we went inside and hoped there was no human or monster in there. I noticed that the sun was threatening to come up so it had been a long night for us all. I gently pushed the kids into the building, allowing more space for Chae-yeong to run in with Yi-Kyung. I blinked as Eun-yu shined her torch at me.

"Sorry."

I could see the smirk as she walked into the building, "You aren't." I said, looking at Hyun who was trailing behind, "Hurry up before I leave you out here."

He looked down at me, a ghost of a smile on his face, "You won't."

"No time to flirt," I said, flicking his chest before following after the others, wincing as we could hear our footsteps echoing throughout the building.

We made it into a room with a hospital bed where Chan-Yeong laid Yi-Kyung. I moved over to his side as I bent down to look at her fully. I gently ran my fingers through her hair that wasn't singed in the fire. "What happened to her?" Chan-yeong asked, making me look at him but he was looking at Hyun.

"A fire started where she was staying. I think there was no way out." He responded, staring at Yi-Kyung. I could tell that he didn't want to admit the truth. That Ah-yi was capable of trying to kill her mother but it was possible. He looked at Chan-Yeong and me, "She was already unconscious by the time I made it in."

"It's carbon monoxide poisoning," Chan-yeong said, looking at me. I gave him a look before standing up with him, "Something like a small gas tank should be lying around." He looked at Hyun and Eun-yu, "Go look for some." He handed me a torch.

I clicked it on, "Haru, stay with Yi-Kyung." I said simply as I walked down the hall to see what I could find in my investigation.

I walked into a room, a hospital doctor's office. It was so messy like it was evacuated as quickly as they could. I looked at all the papers on the desk, seeing so much blood. I feel bad for the poor souls that never got out of here as a human or a neohuman, that were stuck as monsters until we could sort them out if we ever could. I went through the desk, looking for anything before opening up a locker, getting nothing. "I found one." I jumped at the sound of Chan-Yeong's voice. I ran out of the room and back towards the others.

I came back, my footsteps crunching as I stepped through the messy hallway. I came to a stop beside Hyun and watched as Chan-Yeong connected the oxygen tank to a tube. He turned it on and I listened to the air hissing sound, "Is it working?" Eun-yu asked. Chan-yeong watched the tank for a moment before sighing in disappointment, "What? What is it?"

"It's out of oxygen."

I sighed, "There has to be more in the building. I know we're running out of time but we should find one. Right?" I asked, looking at Chan-Yeong.
