[SMUT WARNING at the end of the chapter]
I held Ae-ri, being careful of her leg as I watched Hyun's sleeping face. I just hope he wouldn't be mad that I made him go back to sleep as he looked so betrayed. I couldn't sleep last night cause I saw that betrayed look every time I closed my eyes which made me feel so guilty. I sighed softly and turned to look at Eun-yu as she came out of the building. I watched as she counted all of the syringes that she placed into a box and closed it.
Chan approached us from the side, "What is that?" He asked, curious.
She sighed, "Anesthetic." She admitted.
Chan let out a frustrated sigh as he looked between us all, "How long do you think this stuff will last us?"
Eun-yu looked at me before looking beyond my head, "I haven't thought about it."
"Lee Eun-yu. Bae Yena." He started with a frown on his face. I could tell that he was trying to find it hard to not yell at us for supporting Hyun and waiting for him to be back to normal. "We shouldn't have woken him up in the first place."
"I don't have the energy to argue."
"So just listen instead." He snapped quickly before sighing. He took a moment to take a breath to calm himself, "As soon as you opened your eyes, he killed a monster and then tried to kill me. He's not the person who saved that woman before!" He ended the sentence with an raised voice.
I rolled my eyes, "You don't understand, Chan. Until you have a voice in your head fighting to gain control of your body, you'll never understand." I hissed at him, "He is still the same person, whether you want to believe it or not and I'm going to be there for him when he fights back."
"I know that Cha Hyun-su's still somewhere in there but..." He said softly, trying to calm me down. "he's also the only one who can make himself human again." I looked at Hyun's body and bit down on my lip as he did have a point. "There's nothing we can do to bring him back. The monster's consumed him and I don't want your monster to consume you by being around him!"
"If he really had been taken over entirely, then I could accept what you're saying right now." Eun-yu chimed in.
I moved to readjust Ae-ri on my hip and sighed softly, "I've brought him back many times before." I said softly, making the two of them look at me. I looked up at Chan, "I know what I need to do to stay alive and keep him from being his monster forever. You don't need to worry about me, Chan."
"Yena," Chan pleaded with me, his eyes boring into mine. "He could really... end up hurting you." He said softly, his voice sounding like he was defeated. "These creatures are known to kill their loved ones. That's what monsterization does to people."
"What am I?" I shouted at him, "I'm one of those fucking creatures that you're speaking of. Your nephew, my son, is also one of those creatures! You don't get to say shit like that and expect me to agree with you. I never hurt my family. Hyun-su NEVER hurt me when I was still human. Nor hurt any fucking human that didn't deserve it. You are tarnishing us under one umbrella. News flash, you have no clue!" I turned to walk away from him when he pulled me back to face him. "Get off of me!"
