It was morning when I finally figured out where Eun-yu and Chan-yeong were as they never showed up at the highway after Haru and I waited for a few hours. There was no sign of Hyun-su either so I'm still hoping that he had managed to find her. Even after not seeing him in nearly a year, he still made my heart do its annoying flutter. He has become a lot more attractive this time around, the year has been perfect for him. Good for him cause I feel like I've aged a lot in the last year while trying to raise two children, one who had abilities that would scare a normal human.

I noticed two humans standing over a hole in the ground and throwing a rope into it. I made eye contact with the male, who aimed his weapon at me. I rolled my eyes, "I'm here to help my friends." I said, ignoring him before holding onto the rope, and looking down at Eun-yu who was climbing up. I reached out my hand and pulled her up when she grabbed my hand. "Jeez, you're heavy." I joked.

"Glad to see you haven't forgotten us." She said, rolling her eyes and standing up.

I shook my head at her reaction, "Help me up." I leaned over, looking down at Chan-yeong. "You're not going to leave me here, are you?" I looked at Eun-yu, gesturing towards her.

She gestured back before sighing when she saw my glare, "Promise me."

"What?"

She looked over the hole, down at Chan-yeong, "That you'll never chase after me, or... or ask me questions."

"Can't promise that."

I shook my head, "Is there some context I'm missing here? I'm just so confused right now."

"Shut up." She said to me before turning back to Chan-yeong, "That's not up for debate."

"I can't make a promise I can't keep."

She sighed and walked towards the hole, "Fine, damn it. Have it your way." She grabbed onto the rope, "Grab on."

I walked behind her and held onto the rope to give some extra help. I groaned at the sudden weight and helped her to pull him up. "God, you're so fucking heavy, Chan-Yeong."

He let out a groan, "Shut it, Ye-na."

We heard some noises, making Eun-yu panic as we heard a monster growl, "Hey... Wait a minute... Something's here..." She said, holding onto the rope. We started to pull the rope more, "Get up here! Hurry! Hurry!"

"Haru!" I yelled as I pulled the rope, with Chan-yeong hurrying up and finally got out of the hole. I turned around, grabbing Haru's ankle so that he would duck down with us. Instead, we got some kind of liquid sprayed at us, which confused me.

"What is it?" Chan-yeong asked, holding his gun up.

Eun-yu raised her hand, smelling it, "It's gasoline."

"Move!" Chan-yeong shouted.

I grabbed Haru, rolling us to safety as a ball of fire was launched above us and all I heard was a monster screaming in pain. I covered Haru's ears, hearing his scared whimpers, "Shush, shush." I whispered into his ear, "I have you. Neither of us are injured."
