I could hear my footsteps echoing in my head as I walked along the grey pathway in Hyuk's head. I didn't know what to expect from this place but I knew I had to help him bring back his emotions. I walked to a doorway that was shining light into the darkness, blinking rapidly as I walked through the bright light. I was suddenly outside, in a playground. I watched as the kids ran around, laughing and screaming. I noticed a familiar mop of dark hair, peeking out of a hole in the slide.
I smiled, walked over to the young Hyuk, who was crouching and reading a book. He looked so at peace as he read his book. I could recognize him from a mile away. I looked over the slide, seeing a very little Eun-yu sitting with a dog. It was so cute seeing them before the world took their brightness away. I watched as Eun-yu unleased the dog, who sprinted away as fast as it could with Eun-yu jumping up, "No doggie!" She shouted before running after the dog.
She slipped and fell, hurting her knee which made her burst into tears. Hyuk peeked his head out before climbing out in a panic, running over to her, "Eun-yu! Are you okay?" He asked as he pat her head.
Eun-yu cried as she pointed to the dog, "Doggie got away, Hyukkie." She sobbed out as she pushed herself up to sit up.
Hyuk nodded and moved to put her onto his back, "Let's go and get him then. Hold on tightly," He said before running after the dog.
I smiled at the siblings, seeing how their dynamic was before everything went to hell for them. I bit my lip softly as I looked around, wondering where I would find the grown up Hyuk. He should be around here, obviously hiding from me.
I noticed a figure on the other side of the field, standing with their back to me. I walked through the playground, trying to get to them but they started to walk away, like they knew I was following them. I quickened my pace to get to them when I was taken into another memory. One of my worse memories but from someone else's view.
"Stop! Stop!" I could hear myself screaming. I closed my eyes, swallowing harshly as I wanted to slip away. I didn't want to face what I looked like to him. My vulnerable moment was also stuck in my friend's memories. I watched as Hyuk walk by the alley way, his head snapping towards the noises.
I watched him take a moment to consider what to do before he took off his jacket as he ran towards the alleyway. I followed after him, walking more slowly as I watched him slip his jacket over my damaged body. I felt the tears fall down my cheeks as I watched him make sure my body was safe and protected while I was out. He was always protecting me and I never did the same for him.
"There's no point in crying now." I heard him say, making me turn to look at the owner of the voice, the real Hyuk. "It happened, you cried about it already. Your life became better after this incident." He explain, moving to stand beside me. "I didn't know then that you would be my biggest headache other than Eun-yu. I'm glad I saved you, just wished I was here earlier but it all worked out cause Ae-ri wouldn't be here."
