#61- How He Gets Your Kids Into Music
Because father's day. So happy father's day to all the father's
Ashton: Ashton was sitting on the couch, writing down lyrics and messing around on his guitar. "Daddy what are you doing?" Your daughter asked him. "Making music for my new album with your uncles," he answered, picking her up. "Wanna go do something fun?" he asked. Of course she agreed, and he took her to the studio to teach her how to sing. She put on the head phones and sang into the mic, not sounding half bad. "My daughter has the voice of an angel," he said, picking her up and spinning her around. Ashton became her inspiration as she grew up and he taught her everything she knew.
Luke: Luke was sitting outside by the pool, playing around on his acoustic guitar. "Hey princess," he said to your daughter, and then he picked her up. Then he started to teach her how to strum the guitar. She was still too little to reach around the whole guitar, so he went to the store and got her a smaller guitar. For hours that day he sat there showing her how to play a few simple things, it was a huge bonding experience for them. For years they spent together playing with random guitars, and even singing. It was the one thing they shared that both of them loved even after she got older, they still played together.
Michael: You and your son were sitting backstage at an 5SOS concert, the first time he was going to see his dad working. Michael was all over the stage, hyper and having fun. "I wanna be like daddy!" Your son exclaimed. A little while later, Michael stopped and pulled him onto the stage, handing him a guitar. "Come on buddy, it's your time to shine." Michael and your son jumped around onstage, they looked so happy. After that, your son never missed a concert, he loved the guitar and all of the energy. Your son was so much like his dad, he grew up loving music and he started a band as well. Michael helped with the guitar parts.
Calum: Calum was in the garage, looking through his old stuff coming across old CD's in a box. "Hey dad what's that?" Your son asked, sitting beside him. "These are the bands that inspired me to do what I do today," he answered. "Can we listen to them?" He asked, picking up a Green Day CD. "If course we can," Calum said, excitedly. After listening to all of them an even some old 5SOS stuff, your son had become so interested in his dad's music. Calum took him to the studio and taught him a few songs on the bass. Your son always sits in his room trying to perfect the tune, listening to his dad's old albums.
