We were still alone and without food. By now nobody had the will to do anything, much less the energy. Even breathing was painful.

"Shucking bastard's,"I mumbled, holding my stomach.

"Yeah,"Minho agreed, just as slowly.

"They can suck my-"
"No cussing,"Newt interrupted.

"Stupid mother of the Glade,"I mumbled.

"I heard you,"He sighed.

"It's too hot in here,"Frypan complained.

"What an important problem,"I whispered.

"You know what we should do?"Minho asked.

"Accept fate,"I suggested.

"No. We should keep planning."

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his unrealistic optimism. There was no way out. He needed to get out of denial, and I was fine being the person to do that for him.

"That's dumb Greenie. Look around. We are fu-"
"No cussing,"Newt said harsher.

"Fine. We are shucked, okay? We're trapped so go to sleep, and maybe enjoy some sweet dreams that don't involve this. That's what I'm going to do,"I said, turning over on the floor and curling into a ball. By now the hunger pains were unbearable.

"So you're just going to sleep until you die?"He asked.

"Do you have a problem with that?"I snapped, just trying to close my eyes. I was exhausted and worn out. Despite this the burning hunger wouldn't let me sleep. It was a lost cause.

It looks like escaping the Glade really was all for nothing.

"Wake up. Hey, wake up,"Aris exclaimed, shaking me.

"No,"I mumbled, staying in my position.

"But there's food. Like actual food."

"What, really?"I asked, doubting my ears.

"Yeah. I got you yours. Here,"He stated, handing me an apple.

I took a second to look at it before rubbing it off on my shirt. It wasn't for any real reason. I just came up in the Glade doing that whenever I got an apple, and I see no point in stopping just because we're locked in here on the brink of death.

With that I took my first bite, and as much as I'd love to just scarf the thing down, I'm not fond of throwing up.

I felt his eyes on me, and I glanced up. He was wearing a small smile.

"What's up with you?"I asked.

"Nothing. It's just some things never change, you know?"

"Uh, no. What are you talking about?"I questioned.

At my words his face seemed devoid of color.

"You alright there? You look like you've seen a ghost,"I asked.

"I'm fine,"He mumbled.

"Are you sure? That seemed out of nowhere,"I pointed out, feeling his forehead for a fever. He didn't feel sick. "That's good I guess,"I mumbled to myself, pulling my hand back only for him to turn bright red.

"Weren't you such a terrible Med-jack that they pushed you out almost instantly?"He reminded me.

I took a second to think about where he could have known that or if I forgot talking about that. So far I couldn't help but feel like it was a red flag.
