It's Friday night, which means it's time for Sapphire to hang out with my girls for the first time. I decided to give them all a call to verify a game plan. The ringer rang for a few seconds before Ava connected, then Liz and Carrie.
"Hey guys, what's going on for tonight?" I asked. "Oh, I was thinking maybe we could get drunk tonight at my place. I just got some strong ass vodka." Liz answered.
I now know that Sapphire can be about that life, but I don't want us to be completely wasted the first time she meets my girls. We really need a plan B.
"That sounds fun Liz, but I really think we should just chill without the alcohol and drugs tonight." I said into the phone. "Aw, well I guess we can do that." Liz responded back disappointed.
"I think we should stick with eating snacks and playing Uno." Ava suggested.
"That's not a bad idea." I said before Carrie added into the conversation. "Plus, if we play cards then it'll be the perfect time for us to really get to know more about your new girlfriend." She giggled.
"Alright, that sounds good. What time should we come over?" I asked them. "I think 7 is a good time. You guys can totally stay the night if you'd like." Liz responded. "Oh and of course my mom doesn't really care what we do as long as the police aren't involved." She added.
"Okay, I'll text you guys later." I responded. "I can't wait to meet your girlfriend, Angel." Carrie piped in. "It's so sweet you found someone you seem to really care about."
Aw, that made me smile. As always, I love how caring my friends are. "Thanks Carrie, me too. I'll see you guys at 7!" I exclaimed as I left the call.
For the next hour, I was texting Sapphire off and on about what's happening tonight. She told me she was really nervous about coming over, especially if we're staying the night.
I reassured her there's nothing to worry about, because my friends are some of the chillest people you could possibly meet. I just really hope everything works out alright tonight.
The time now was about 6:30pm and I had already let my mother know what was happening tonight.
I walked downstairs and sat on our brown sofa in the living room next to my mother's recliner that she always sits in while I waited for Sapphire to get here. As soon as I took a seat though, my mother started talking to me.
"So Angel, about your new friend Sapphire..." she started to say as she was flipping through different tv stations to watch.
I raised my eyebrow at her in concern. "Yeah? What about her?" I asked.
"Well, while I'm happy that you have a new friend, But I also hope that she's keeping you out of trouble." She responded. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Mom, seriously? I promise we'll be alright. We're just going to Liz's house for the night and I promise we won't get into any trouble." I snapped back.
"I really hope not, because after that crap you pulled at Ava's house, that was nearly the last straw!" She responded harshly as she put the tv remote down.
I decided to hold my tongue and not say anything because I really am not in the mood to start an argument. Oh well, it really doesn't matter because Sapphire just texted me that she's here.
"I've got to go." I told my mother as I got up and headed towards the front door. I heard her mumble something before I shut the door behind me.
Almost instantly as soon as I stepped out of the car I noticed something different about Sapphire. Even through her tinted car windows I noticed she had dyed her hair a different color.
